Laptop wont go into sleep! Why?
I just baught a new alienware with vista installed on it, about a month old. Never had a problem with it except for the fact it wont go into sleep mode anymore and its making me nervous leaving it on or constantly turning it off.
What happens is i either push the button which i have set to make it sleep, manuelly set it to sleep, or leave on for a while and all it does is turn off the screen then constantly pretend like its preparing to sleep but never sleep. Things ive already done, unhooked my mouse and locked the pad so nothing touches it, turned off wifi so no lan interuptions, logged out and shut down ALL programs running so they dont interupt, and i already checked the power settings.
I have a HP desktop running vista and it sleeps without a problem....
Please someone help, i have no idea what the hell is wrong with it.

Go to your battery setting and see if sleep mode is enabled.
OR
1. Start
2. Control Panel
3. Power Options (look around it here, my would say
"System Standby" in Power Schemes, or go to the Advance tab and make sure that Standby doesn't have NEVER.)

It probably has Insomnia. jk
I have same problem, I can only log off and shut down option that's it =/
