Is the Top Contributor Badge too easy to obtain?

Because I believe I discovered the secret, I feel it is very, very, very easy to become one, in a single week, too.

To fully answer your question, yes it is easy!

Not in polls and surveys.

Yahoo no longer gives out a Top Contributor badge in that section.

Otherwise it is easy if you answer well or if you only answer friends or questions that have no other answers.

Simply answer a bunch of questions with a high number of Best Answers and you are likely to get a badge.

I have none on this account and I prefer it that way.

The badge is like a bullseye on your account and it does not show up come voting time so if the asker does not care about it then it is worthless to you.

I simply answer as best I can and that makes me happy now.

In my opinion, no it's not. I feel that it serves it's purpose which I feel is to separate the people who just mess around on Y! and those of us who actually try to give helpful answers. By the way I had one in Music & Music Players but I went on a vacation to L.A. and I lost it. Maybe an additional VIP contributor or maybe Superb Contributor badge would be more realistic than just making the standard TCB harder to get.

Yes, because you just work hard and keep answering as hard as you can & having best answers to the category. I just receive mine after 1 week of working on it. so it is too easy to get the Top Contributor badge. Best wishes!

Thats true on my last account I had a top contributor badge and so did a lot of other people because people could get them by answering one word but usually answers have to have more thought I think thats jokes and riddles and wordplay shouldnt get them either if we dont get them

Well,, it's not that hard lets put it that way. I wouldn't say it's easy to obtain, it does take effort, and you do have to give good answers to get it if you don't want it taken away, but there are alot of people who seem to have it.

I think that maybe the bar should be set higher than 10% BA's and 200pts a week, but it's only a bit of fun,, so i think it's OK as it is.

No it's not too easy to become a top contributor, I've been trying to become one for ages and I still havn't got there :P

For me, I don't think it's easy to get one. I don't know what category I'm good in, few days the badge will not be there anymore, and you must keep going and contribute to that category. The only category I'm good in, and of course for everyone, is polls and survey. I'm going to try to get one, one day, I hope...

It is easy if you only answer a question where you are the only answerer and if you have multiple accounts.

I believe people should become TC's for a certain amount of Best Answers chosen by the ASKER, not the voters.

Admittedly there are a lot of them and unless they make the formula harder to achieve one the number of users with them as they qualify for one.

They have to be earned each week, and if you do not put the work in, they can be lost.

Some weeks I have three, other weeks only two.
