Not only does this act "linger" in my mind, but it is of personal import. While I am much older, I grew up in the same neighborhood as this young man, and a dear friend of mine served in this heroes unit. I have known of this selfless act for quite sometime, and have always felt that he deserves the recognition that our Country has honored him with.

I am a Strong Democrat and Virulently Liberal. I oppose the war in every way possible, but I support the American Troops who are serving their Country.

There are still many many American heroes out there...if there wasn't there would not be a volunteer military. Everyone that joins the military is a hero in my eyes, whether they are in Iraq or here in the States.

he knew what he was signing up for, I mean, its cool that he serves our country, but I am not going to praise him for jumping on a grenade, it was in he job detail. I don't get praised for turning my reports in on time.
