Friday evening Hockey Q's?

I think I'll ask some random hockey question to brighten my mood. Stupid people have some really stupid hockey opinions. And gay Pittsburgh bandwagoners are sprouting every where. Quit it....you're giving all of us real fans bad names.

1.You've been offered a choice: someone will give you two front seats to see your favorite band in concert or two tickets to you favorite NHL team's season opener (the seats aren't that great, but it's the season opener so it should still be fun!)...Which do you take?

2. Do your evening plans tonight involve hockey?

3. What's the best game you've ever seen?

4. Pick one: Kovalchuk or Thornton?

5. If you were the Sens coach would you use Emery or Gerber for playoffs?

6. Ryan Miller: Yay, or nay?

7. If you were the Penguins GM who would you keep for a backup goalie next year? Conkblock or Dany 'I suck' Sabourin?

8. Pronger and Chara get in a fight...who wins?

9. Crisotbal Huet or Carey Price?

Update:

10. Who would you rather get in a fight with....Derian Hatcher or Chris Simon?

Update 2:

NIPS - What the-? I don't care about dang tree removal! lol

Update 3:

...unless it's tree removal to remove bandwagoners....

Update 4:

MIKE - Please don't say "no offense" to Dany Sabourin....I hate everything about the man. If given the chance I'd shove that retarded goalie stick of his up his.......ahem.

Update 5:

NIPS - Well if I have a great lawn this summer....I'll give all credit to you! lol

Update 6:

MIKE - Lol.....have NIPS pass me some of the good stuff.

I just hate Dany a lot.....lol.

Update 7:

ERICA - lmao. I think I'm going to borrow that shouting 'Overrated' thing. tehe. Ruutu shirt? I thought about investing in one....

    1) I would pick the concert tickets, on the grounds that I would probably already have tickets to that game. (if the concert and game are at the same time then I would pick hockey)

    2) Yes

    3) 1989 Playoffs, Flyers at Penguins April 25th. Both teams just went nuts.

    4) Kovalchuk

    5) Emery

    6) Yay

    7) Conks, Je deteste Sabourin

    8) Pronger

    9) Price

    10) Hatcher

Of course! Hockey is so fun to watch at the actual game.

    2. Do your evening plans tonight involve hockey?

    No, unfortunately.

    3. What's the best game you've ever seen?

    Las Vegas vs. Phoenix

    4. Pick one: Kovalchuk or Thornton?

    Thornton

    5. If you were the Sens coach would you use Emery or Gerber for playoffs?

    Emery

    6. Ryan Miller: Yay, or nay?

    Nay

    7. If you were the Penguins GM who would you keep for a backup goalie next year? Conkblock or Dany 'I suck' Sabourin?

    Hmm.

    8. Pronger and Chara get in a fight...who wins?

I don't know who either of them are.

    9. Crisotbal Huet or Carey Price?

    Crisotbal Huet!

    10. Who would you rather get in a fight with....Derian Hatcher or Chris Simon?

    1. Well, I don't really have a favorite band, at least not that's in existence anymore. I like oldies in general, and also stuff like Frank Sinatra. He's dead. So I'll take the Season Opener tickets please.

    2. I don't know yet. It's between Leatherheads and an open skate, with an option for homework.

    3. either Game 2 in the 2006 finals (Shutout Baby) or the Hurricanes Game against the lightning - not the last home game against them, but the one before that. 5-2, great dominating game by the Hurricanes. And I had much better seats for that one.

    4. Kovalchuk. Passers are great, but a pure goal scorer that good can produce without a top tier center and puts butts in seats.

    5. Gerber, wit how they've played this year. And pray that the good one shows up.

    6. Yay. Reminds me of Cam Ward in a lot of ways- good young goalie who needs to work on consistency and plays behind a bad defense which doesn't help his numbers.

    7. Conklin. The way he played, I don't think I would have any other choice.

    8. Pronger. Chara throws one and throws himself off balance, and Pronger's the kind of guy who can take advantage.

    9. Price has much more upside from my view. But the Habs have to be careful with playing him so much- he's young and may not fully have the mental game ready for the NHL. Playing behind the team he is can only help though.

    1) Concert. There are what, more than 70 games in a season? There will be plenty of chances to go. But how many times will you get offered front row tickets to yuor favorite band in a lifetime?

    2) Yup. Gonna watch the Av's v. Wild game.

    3) McCarty getting revenge on Lemueix for the Draper hit. Or the Wings 97 Stanley Cup win.

    4) Kovalchuk.

    5) Gerber all the way.

    6) Nay.

    7) Conkblock. Hands down.

    8) Pronger...but then he would get suspended and that would lead to a first round loss in the 'offs.

    9) Price.

  • 1) Front seat tickets to a Josh Groban concert, or season opener tickets...the concert.

    2) Yes, of course. I have to see how the Wild do against the Avs.

    3) Stars/Rangers back in 2002.

    4) Hmmm...Thornton. Why not.

    5) Gerber.

    6) Meh. Does that count? That means "I really don't care at the moment"

    7) Probably Conklin. I keep hearing about him.

    8) Chara.

    9) Price. Random pick.

    10) Derian Hatcher. He's getting up there.

Cheer up Mrs C(an't Live Without Hal Gill)! It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh! I got soaked in the rain today! This Jarkko Ruutu shirt is no good for my brain! WOOOO!!

Here's something that might relieve some stress:

While my friend and I love Sid, not even Sid is immune from our cutting up. We make fun of him a bit sometimes. But you know, we love Sid. However, we're sickened by the sheer number of Sid-wear everywhere we look. We know a lot of people wearing it are Sidbunnies or bandwagoners. So every time we see a Sid jersey it's like a race to see who spots it first and yells the word "OVERRATED!". We did it so often, now any time I see Sid-wear, even when I'm with family or other friends, I can't help but shout "OVERRATED!" And it feels pretty good, actually. (Plus, it's funny when we get caught. We don't exactly explain ourselves; we just promise we don't really think Sid's overrated. It's also especially funny when I'm wearing Sid-wear myself, heh heh...!)

    1) The front row tickets to see a band I like. There are 81 other games in the season.

    2) Yes. I went out for coffee with a hockey-loving friend earlier and we're both watching the game tonight.

    3) Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what has been the best, but one of them that immediately pops into my head is Game 7, Pens vs Sabres, in 2001. Kasparaitis, of all people, won the game in OT.

    4) Thornton.

    5) Gerber. He didn't play horribly in Game 1. I don't think Emery has earned the right to start.

    6) Two nays and a no way!

    7) If they were both free agents, I would probably sign Conklin, not Sabourin. (If he's still alive, that is. Hehe.)

    8) Pronger. Then when Chara's down, he gives him an elbow drop.

    9) Price isn't exactly proven yet and Huet isn't great unless he's playing up to his potential. Right now I'd say Price if I had to choose.

    1) Hockey tickets. Opening day means its hockey season

    2) Watching Pens-Sens now ( I don't have cable anymore so I can't watch Devs)

    3) Game 5 1995 Eastern Conf Semi finals I never thought the Devils could beat the Pens. This game converted me from Rangers fan to a Devils fan. I bought the tickets hoping I could see the Rangers.

    4) Thornton - no real reason I just like watching him play

    5) Gerber no contest

    6) Yea

    7) Conklin. Not the greatest but he won't play enough to hurt the Pens (in a normal year)

    8) Pronger

    9) The jury is still out on Price

    10) Hatcher. Simon just scares me.

1.I would definately take the season opener and play my favorite band's cd on the way to the arena.

    2. Yep all i'm doing is sitting back and watching the caps/flyers game and keeping track of the pens/sens game (because its not on tv where i'm at)

    3. Best game would probably be the last one i went to when the hurricanes beat the lightning 5-2. I loved it because my fave player is St.louis and it was the first time i had seen him in person but the canes are still my fave team and they won by alot.

    4. Its a hard Choice but i guess Thorton because he seems like a stronger player

    5. Gerber because emery doesn't deserve it

6.nay i don't know why but i have never liked him

    7. Conklin i think sabourin was ok but i only saw him in a few games but i know conklin is good

    8. Chara he is bigger and has more of an advantage and i like him better anyway

9.Huet because he is on the caps now and i like them so...

    1. It really depends on the seats, but probably the hockey game. Leafs tickets are hard to come by.

    2. Absolutely

    3. Opening round game 6 99-00. Toronto vs. Ottawa. Best overtime i've ever seen.

    4. Thornton

    5. Gerber, maybe Emery if they continue to lose.

    6. Yay, but a quiet yay.

    7. Conklin

    8. Chara

    9. Right now Huet, Price in a couple of years.

I was rooting for the Pens when they had Blue uniforms and my brother and I could walk up to the ticket window, game day and get b section between the blue lines at the Civic Arena.

    1- Favorite band

2- Yep, watching Pens/Sens and hope to see some of Caps/Flyers as well.

3-Too many great games to just pick one, sorry for the cop out

    4- Kovalchuk

5- Gerber, too much baggage with Emery

    6- Yay? whatever that means

7- Bring the Moose back, just kidding. Conklin.

8- Chara on points (too much reach)

    9- This minute Huet.

10- Simon (beating Hatcher up would probably improve his looks).

    1. Please, don't make me decide! I would love to see KoRn, but I have not been to an NHL game since January 2003. WHAT DO I CHOOSE!!??

    2. Yes, I'm going to watch the Pens and Sens game.

    3. Game 7 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals. Detroit 7 Colorado 0. Also, I liked the last game of the this season between the Capitals and Panthers.

    4. Kovalchuk.

    5. Gerber. Emery doesn't deserve a start. Just like my coach used to say "Don't show up for practice, don't even bother showing up for the game."

    6. I like him.

    7. I have never seen a solid Pittsburgh goalie until Hedberg. I think Fleury is really solid too. I would pick Conklin for back up.

    8. Chara. All he has to do is raise his foot and it will be level with Pronger's face.

    9. I like them both.

    10. Chris Simon. I'm not even going to fight, all I have to do is drive next to him and stick a baseball bat out of my SUV and see how he likes that.
