The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud (The Bartimaeus trilogy)....?
Is it worth a read? I like fantasy books like HP obviously, and this has been sitting on my bookshelf for years - I'm just wondering if it is any good or not.
I would really appreciate your opinions on the book or the whole trilogy (no spoilers though please). Thanks a lot =)

The series is very good. I have read it through several times. It is a little more old fashioned then HP, but still good. If you like this book and HP then I would recomend the His Dark Materials triliogy.

to be fair i haven't read the book but i have been wanting to. however my cousin reead it and said it was very intresting, great fantasy but diffrent then harry potter
