How can I get my 3 month old baby to drink from a bottle?

I've been breastfeeding him and every night since he was born he's been getting a bottle of breastmilk from my husband around midnight. He's never had a problem taking this bottle. About a week ago he started crying during this feeding and not eating. We thought maybe he was eliminating this meal. Then my husband tried to give him a bottle during the day because I go back to work next week. He is refusing the bottle now at night and during the day. We try once a day and he just cries and eats maybe 1/2 ounce. Any ideas? I am back at work so we have no choice. He will need to be fed about 3 times while I am gone. My husband will be with him for the next month. How can we get him to take the breastmilk in a bottle without getting upset?

well first yes it could ave been the formula sense he was so used to the breastmilk and when he noticed that was not it it probably upset him try using just breast milk still them slowly mixing in the formula with it also try starting him off breastfeeding then slip the bottle into his mouth he cries go back to breast and try agian but make it longer til u go back to breast so he gets the idea eventually he will get hungry enough during the day to take the bottle it just takes time to get used to the idea that he wont be getting breast fed during the day also suggest ur husband hold him like u do when u breast feed ur son try wrapping him in a shirt u wore to make it more like u r the one feeding him i had the same problems but the shirt really helped along with the breastmilk formula mixing

The make breast tubes that daddy can attach on him.  It can contain milk or formula.  Sounds weird...but just an idea.  Maybe experiment with different nipples and consult his pediatrician.  
The Playtex Nurser system is pretty good.

I would talk with my pediatrician and see if the formula was too much. Stick with your milk for a couple weeks.    May want to try different shaped bottle nipples too.

no same problem with my baby brother first breastfeed him a little until he snoozes and then give him the bottle but my brother doesnt fall for those tricks anymore after he gets older (6 months)you can just give him soy milk
