question for hardcore harley riders re: sportbikes?

i've always wanted to know exactly what it is about a bike that does 170+ and 0-60 in about 3 seconds that makes it NOT a "real bike"... because it doesn't have chrome? because it's not made in america? is a ferarri not a real car cause it's made in italy?

all my friends that ride harleys always have some smart-a$$ comment about my gsxr, but when i ask them if they want to try it out they always look at me like i just asked them to jump the grand canyon on a vespa and just say "no way". i wonder why that is.....

OR what is the big deal about some peice of crap you have to ride laying down on doing 170 mph who the H do you think you are impressing except some other zit that has the same peice of crap + What is so great about 170 you dont even have a good crotch rocket you must be an out cast from both classes

We have a Turbo Busa that would eat that moped for lunch

Plus if we drive Harleys WHY Would we want to ride that thing

you must feel like your trying to get your ugly sister a date nobody wants it

So one way or another you need to up date just to try to fit in some where

You acutaly want to compare that slug to a Ferarri?????????

It's not that they aren't real bikes, it's that the guys on them aren't real bikers. Sportbike riders are annoying, they ride dangerously, and they cause car drivers to act nervous around motorcycles.

And for people that say Harleys aren't good quality. The 70's are over. Get over it. Their fit and finish is better than the Japanese cruisers. If you don't believe me, you've never seen both up close. Jap cruisers use a lot of plastic. Some people may not like chrome, but I don't see how anybody could like chrome painted plastic.

Source(s): I've owned 2 Japanese cruisers (Kaw and Honda), I've built my own custom chopper, and I used to work for Harley Davidson (while riding my Jap cruisers).

some comments to pass back to the harley bullys

    hardley movinson

what did you do with the other half of the tractor

straigh lines only, they don't corner and they don't stop so good.

    massey ferguson

    so on and so on.

doesn't really matter what bike you ride. Do your own thing and enjoy yourself

In my humble opinion...Any one who disrespects another's bike solely due to it's manufacturer is NOT a real rider / biker. I don't care if your an HD owner talking about other bikes or a Metric owner talking about an HD.

Real bikers / riders DO NOT care what you ride and respect all owners choices as to what suits their style.

    Just ride!

Some people just don't want to ride other peoples bikes.

Harley's are the standard that all manufactures use as the guide for motorcycles. Sport bikes are fast, they are uncomfortable, and they do serve a purpose. If your not racing a sport bike then there is no reason to own one as you just can't ride them that fast on the roads in America.

I also have friends that drive sport bikes. I don't like sport bikes and never have. You are free to ride what you want. I choose to ride an American bike that was assembled by American workers.

harley riders tend to be fiercly loyal to their machines, and there was a time when jap bikes were definately second class citizens over here. i don't particularly care for "crotch rocket" style bikes, although their performance is impressive, but, hey, whatever floats your boat!

if i meet you, you won't find me running down your choice of ride just because of the brand or style, and i would appreciate it if you would do me the same courtesy.

as to why all your friends who "ride harleys" are always running down your ride, maybe you should be hanging out with others who enjoy the same style of riding as you do, instead of getting all bent out of shape over what someone else's opinion of your bike is. if their friends, they probably are just getting a kick out of your reactions.

so, just shut up and ride.

I have no problem with either bikes, I owned both Harley's and crotch rockets, It just depends on what tool you want to use to get the job done.

Harley's are American junk! Those Harley sissys are jealous they can't have the performance of a Japanese bike. Harley riders always ride in packs so when one breaks down they might catch a ride back home. Yeah, thumbs down on that, baby! But you know it's true!

So, you can't take some good-natured razzing from your friends?

    Crybaby.

BTW, these roads, high speed and quick throttle kill.

    Come ride with me.
