How can I get my 800 time down?

Example, today I was on pace for a 2:30-ish in the 800 and then I pulled my knee on the beginning of the second lap and ended up with a time in the 2:50's since I limp-ran the last 200 or so meters. How can I get my time down?

Well if you pull your knee stop running, that's why you didn't get your 2:30.

do repeats of 1200 800 600 400 and 200's, try to keep a pace faster than your 800 goal time for your 600 meters and below, for the 800 go at you race pace and for you 1200 try to be just a couple of seconds off of the expected time. get a full recovery in between so you can really push each and every one. 1 1200 and two of the rest. Another day try to work on your endurance also, go out for like 3 miles and push all of it

I run around 2:30 for the 800m. A good thing to do is work on your 400. You should also have a good kick at the end.

rest, heal your knee don't overdo it and end up being out for even longer.
