Calgary fans?

Are you proud of your teams effort in this series?

I am, and I'm not a Flames fan. They played well with the kind of fire only a few teams are able to muster. There series could hav gone any way, not because of the Sharks, but because your guys worked so hard. I thank you for the exciting series and the great sportsmanship by most of your fans.

I would be no less than proud to have my team show the effort your guys did. Thank you.

Update:

Krh, I wouldn't blame your defense for the volley of shots. The Sharks love to shoot, and it's tough to stop that tendency. However, the Falmes transitional defense was excellent. Not only that, I loved your aggressive PK and the sheer amount of blocked shots. I love that kind of play.

A great testament to your defense is how frustrating it was. I swore like an entire battelship worth of sailors for a good majority of the series because of your excellent defense.

I'm a die hard Flames fan. This was an exciting series. I think the Flames did pretty well. Definitely gave the Sharks a run. Nolan, was a horse. Iginla was superb as usual. Phanuef was very good. All the guys were great. Hopefully Kipper will get the rest he needs and we'll see the Flames in the playoffs next season. Exiting in the first round three seasons in a row sucks. Congrats to the Sharks. A well deserved win. Nabby was awesome.

I thought that as well sobu. Honestly, they came in as an underdog with the Sharks the favored team to walk out as the series winner. Many did see the Flames potential and picked them as the sleeper team for a 1st round upset, but nevertheless, on paper they were the dog. And thats the great thing about the playoffs! It doesn't matter who is the favorite, who is the dog. Furthermore, its not who has the stars or even who wants it more. Its which team will do what it takes to achieve it. Calgary came in with that mindset and stole game 1 where the Sharks just went along with the media thinking it was a cakewalk. The Flames literally taught the Sharks how to forecheck, backcheck, how to work the PP, and how to change the momentum of the game. The Sharks exhibited that type of effort maybe about 65% of the time. They literally squeaked by in this series. Calgary with their hard grind it out play has certainly gained plenty of respect from the Shark fans and no doubt the Shark players. Hopefully the Sharks learned from this series they have to go GET IT instead of just WANTING it if they want to reach the Holy Grail.

No.. I'm not proud of it. I don't feel they did give it their best. I think the coaching was off, the leadership was off... no one was on the same page the whole series.

They were inconsistent. Kipper played excellent for a few games, but other than that, he fell flat in my opinion.

We blew a total of 4 leads in the series..... that's not a disciplined hockey team. That's a hockey team that gets scared under pressure. With the experience that Calgary offers in its leadership.. there is absolutley no excuse for that to happen.

We blew two very crucial games in this series, that if we played consistently, would have never happened. We blew game 4, which would have guaranteed a strangle hold on the series. We fell flat in game 4 at an awful time.. with less than 5 mins left.. you don't fall flat, you pick up your game.

We blew game 7, after getting a 2-1 lead halfway through the game, we fell flat and had a defensive collapse. I think this was in part becuase of the weak tying goal. But a disciplined, experienced team does not collapse like that... especially after a tying goal. The resutl.... 4 goals in 8 minutes that won the game for SJ..... all of them unnecessary on Calgary's behalf if they would have played consistent and smart.

So no.... I'm not proud of my teams effort. I think they played inconsistent (as has been the case all year), and paid the ultimate price.

If Calgary would ahve played their best all series... I would have been proud. I was proud of Calgary last year versus Detroit (excpet for game 5), and I was proud of Calgary losing the Cup to Tampa Bay.... we played our best and there's no shame in that.

But I do no put this series anywhere close to those categories mentioned above. We didn't giv eit our best, we fell flat, we blew 4 leads, and we took a slough of unnecessary penalties that resluted in power play goals.

That's not anything to be proud of.

We need to get some consistency next year, better coaching, and a good back-up. Sutter needs to seriously re-group this team in my opinion.

I am proud but i saw a lot of things that couldve been done better. The defense gave up way too many shots. They turned the puck over a lot and Kipper had to stand on his head to keep them in the series.Calgary needs a legitimate no.2 to give Kipper some rest in the regular season.other than that it was a good series though and congrats to the Sharks.I would like to see JR get the cup now that Calgary is done

Had the Sharks lost everyone on here would be posting how we suck, we're the worst expansion team ever, we choke, etc etc... Watching the game on VS last night made me sick. All they could rant on about was how joe had "only" scored two goals in the series.... Well I'm just sick of the double standard.

    Anyways, great job Flames.

I think all the teams did great, they all gave the winning team a run for their money, the victory wasn't handed over and that's the way it should be.
