Aversion.
Averse is an adjective. For example:
I am averse to smoking.
Aversion is a noun, a feeling. For example:
I have a strong aversion to snakes and sharks.
The blank isn't used to describe a word, it is an entity, a noun. So therefore, the answer is aversion. = )

Aversion would fit the first blank better, and then place returning for the second blank.
