Bush kept us safe for 8 years. The media lies, but in the end when the dust settles, history won't lie.
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoThe Death of Capitalism?
Look at Europe. Is this something that will spread into the United States of America? It's scary to me. Hostile strikes demonstrating socialistic ideas in favor of a NWO? This better not spread into the United States. It could very well destroy our very sovereignty and the capitalist foundation of our government. However, the way colleges and universities push socialist ideas, this could very well become an inconvenient reality. This has to stop before the entire currency system and capitalistic basis of our government is abolished. Truly a disaster and ultimately a downfall.

In the sentence:
Mr. Gordon considered the rowdy behavior of his students to be contemptible.
Does this make sense?
I realize that contemptible means: Deserving to be regarded awith a feeling of dislike and disrespect.
It just seems like this sentence could go either way...

2 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoVocab help (not sure which one fits)?
In the sentence:
The hikers sat ____ by the mountain lake after their long climb.
The word Languid is supposed to be used to fill in the blank in one of it's four forms: Languid, Languidly(adverb), Languish(verb), Languor(noun.)
As of now I am using languor because after the verb, "sat", shouldn't there be a noun? Would an adverb work as well?
I realize that after the blank there are two prep phrases so the sentence can really be simplified to
The hikers sat ____. (languid, languor, languidly)
Obviously it's not languish.
Help is much appreciated !!!
