Does anyone think that we are not safer?

Read this if you haven't seen it.

Of course, one congressman think it's a ploy, "bizaar", eh?

Update:

No doubt, Robert. No doubt.

Good, realisitc comments. The threat is with us and there's damned little anyone can do 100% of the time. We are subject to their whims and abilities to find loopholes.

Much like prisoners planning escape. All they have to think about.

I do believe we are safer, but it is a different type of safety. Back in the days of the nuclear arms race between the U.S. and U.S.S.R, every time the sirens went off I felt that death was at hand. So when these superpowers agreed to start disarming and eliminate most nuclear carrying missiles, then I really did feel safer on a day-to-day basis. Now, however, the enemy is more insidious. While I don't feel that there is a potential daily threat to my life, as it was in the nuclear missile days, I do feel that safety in general is more of a pervasive issue, since terrorism can strike anywhere, any time, from any body. I do feel somewhat safer from this new type of threat, but there has been a price to pay in terms of loss of our brave soldiers' lives and loss of many freedoms of movement that we had taken for granted.

If you knew half of what really is going on, you would be VERY FRIGHTENED. They don't want to "panic the masses" so we the public actually have no idea:(

Maybe we will get lucky and the end of the world will just be one or several huge nuclear blasts and everyone is instantly obliterated. At least then there would be no suffering. Just, THE END.
