Help with an 9month yr cat eating alergy pill?

My 9 month year old kitten just swallowed

an 10miligram alergy pill she found on the floor,

we are giving her lots of milk and water

and keep a close eye on her but

what do you think the cats sydafects willl be other

than being really tired?

Update:

we contacted a local doctor and he said that the cat will be fine and just to keep her calm and give her fluids

the house is kitty proofed but someone dropped a pill a while ago and she must've found it, plus it was a generic Claratin.

first of all, stop giving her milk! The milk that people drink can make cats drink because of the pastuerization process. Then, call your emergency vet and ask if they can help you or if they can give you the number to an animal poison hotline. Don't give her anything else until they tell you what to do. If they want you to induce vomiting, you don't want to have a bunch of other stuff in her system. If the pill was just benedryl (diphenhydramine HCl) your kitty will probably be just fine, but I would still call the doctor. If it was a different kind of allergy pill, you need to call a vet asap! They can cause liver or kidney failure. Also, once this is all over, you probably ought to think about "kitten-proofing" your home and making sure all toxic materials, including medications, are locked up and out of reach.

Pound wize how large is she? And what Pill. But yes keep a close eye out on her. Plenty of fluid. And give the vet a call. Least then you can ask via phone and not have a bill. But I also was in same situation and cat was fine. But be safe...she's part of the family, I bet,.

you should definitely call an emergency vet clinic and ask to speak with a vet to see if anything in the pill is poisonous. I know there are a few things that we can take that cats just can't...
