Dinner party for our Lawn Maintenance Clients!!!?

This is a great idea! I do think that keeping it more casual would be more comfortable for everyone. I understand your desire here is to have a dinner party, but, if your husband is uncomfortable with having a more formal dinner party, you might want to consider a "toned up BBQ." IOW, have a BBQ, but have outdoor tables, decorated with table cloths, nice table settings, twinkle lights hung around the yard, and other outdoor lighting that looks nice without being tacky.

Also, to make it more comfortable for everyone, have a mix of American and Latino foods. You might want to consider sending an invitation with something clever enclosed giving some English pronunciations of some of the basic Spanish words, ie, hello, good night/bye, how are you, etc. It will also encourage your husband to practice his English. Having two languages is never a bad idea!

I think it's a great idea. Call it a networking party, as someone else suggested. I don't think it should be a formal seated dinner-those can be stuffy for a group of colleagues. Make it a buffet type party and don't skimp on the drinks! Everyone will aprreciate drinks to relax.

If you are worried about the anglo-latino barrier, I suggest serving Americanized foods. Some non-latino dish you are comfortable cooking, and reasonably good at.

I think it's a great idea, maybe start out with a cocktail hour where people can meet and mingle. Call it a networking opportunity and appreciation. I think your husband is just a little insecure about his English skills.

I think its a great idea. keep it simple but nice, ( you do not want your clients to think they are paying for your lifestyle)

As far as your husband goes put yourself in his shoes my other half is Latin also I know how I feel when we go too a Mexican restaurant and everyone speaks to him in Spanish and I do not understand what they are saying
