Why can anti-hunters stand behind his or her convictions? Anti-hunters please come in and answer!!!?
I really do understand why the bunny huggers come into the hunting category and take quick shots at the hunters. However, what is most bothering to me is that they do not have the nerve to defend their statements, keep their email open or not block people immediately after posting their thoughts.
I have tried on several occasions to very diplomatically have an email conversation with folks regarding what makes them so anti-hunting or to get a grasp on their understanding of the sport and 9.5 out of 10 times their email is blocked....and the ones that don't have their emails blocked immediately ignore you or email you some antagonistic and harsh remark then block you! No matter how diplomatic, understanding and nice you are to them they are afraid to stand up and have a mature conversation with you!?

Well my two cents. I've heard people say some very, very, VERY stupid things about why they're against hunting.
I personally think hunting is the natural way to go, human beings have hunted for thousands of years, before we ever began to farm produce, in fact our brains expanded rapidly so we could understand spacial and creative concepts and craft weapons and hunt (and the time period where we started to eat meat was where human beings experienced a general increase in brain size and cognition). I think people don't understand the fact that there is a huge difference between hunting and buying meat at the store.
I personally don't hunt, I don't even eat meat, but that's just because I disagree with buying "farmed", store-bought meat but can't really bring myself to kill animals, maybe I'm just emotionally weak or something. I grew up on a farm and I saw my dad slaughter pigs and chickens for the first eight years of my life, and my grandmother always tried to make me not watch but I would peek out the window sometimes and I just didn't like seeing the animal thrashing and bleeding everywhere. It kind of freaked me out.
But to be honest with you I think it's just my own problem, I'm over sensitive, since no other animal on this planet worries about killing humanely or about the life their food lead, you know? I definitely DO NOT think I'm any better than anyone else for it. But I guess that's part of the whole intelligent, creative package as a human being, we start to over-think our relationship with animals and the environment and begin to seperate ourselves from nature. Hunting IS natural. It's just something I really don't feel comfortable doing myself. I think that's another reason others might look down on hunters - they've pretty much seperated human beings from the rest of nature mentally.
Some of the stuff I have heard people say in defense of anti-hunting stances are "animals in the wild might have families, with little babies in some cave somewhere, while factory farmed animals had a bad life and probably want to die" and other weird, half-handed generalizations and excuses.
You'd be surprised, a lot of the people I've met that hate hunting or think it's cruel don't think twice about eating a burger at McDonalds, but somehow when it's someone that's actually going out and doing their own hunting, they get ridiculously offended. Also, a lot of newbie teenager vegetarians get their underwear in a knot and hate anyone that eats meat. But over time, most vegetarians honestly stop caring that much about other people's business, I did say *most*. A majority of the people I work with and am friends with don't even know what my personal diet choice is, but it's always that one jerk in the bunch that preaches and antagonizes everybody that the world remembers and ruins it for the rest of us.

And how does that person feel about the ways chickens, pigs, and beef cattle are killed? Those are much less humane than hunting! Have they ever been to a slaughterhouse? I hope the person who left you that comment is a vegan. Even if they are, what about all of the animals killed by habitat lost to agriculture? Where does this person think that vegetables come from? They are grown on land that most wildlife can no longer use because of the way modern farming (agribusiness) is done. What about the fact that plants are alive, too? What about the bacteria that infect people with diseases? Don't they have a right to live, too? Also, the vast majority of deer die from starvation, predation, or freezing. Being shot by a hunter is much more humane for the deer. Would this person enjoy being attacked by a mountain lion and partially eaten while they are still alive? Or starving or freezing to death? No living thing can exist without directly or indirectly killing some other living things. There is nothing wrong about this. It is the way life has worked ever since there has been life.

When I first read this question and seen 12 answers, I thought well lets hear the anti's rebuttal. Too no surprise out of 12 answers, 1 was from an anti.
Thanks for trying Cam, but I don't think they're going to defend their beliefs

Wrong Mr. Danger. A predator will kill the biggest juiciest prey animal he can kill easily. Unfortunately to help ensure success they invariably settle for the slowest or weakest. Since man is the most successful predator in the history of the world, we can be choosy. And since I evolved from the the same slime as the lion and tiger (in your opinion) I am as "natural" a predator as either of those. I'm just better at it than they are. Man earned his place at the top of the food chain. The pity is that some of them feel guilty for doing it. If Mr. Danger thinks he is not a predator he needs to see if his eyes are on the side of his head (prey) or they are on the front of his head (predator).

I got a violation for asking a question like this........I would expect for you to get one too..........that is why I started a new group for us but yahoo also gave me two violations for posting it.........I tried to post it twice and they did not post it but still gave me violations..........yahoo is unfair to hunters and is anti gun........but to answer your question does the word coward come to mind
the only way this will ever be a fair forum is to do away with the thumbs up or down and the report option........how many of us have gone to great lengths to give a logical answer just to have it removed and get a violation............it only takes a couple of antis to report and your hard work is gone........make if fair for all..speak your mind and take all comments good or bad........antis don't want to hear logic and as long as the option to report is available we will never be able to sway anyone

Mister Danzir Has watched too many 'Celebrity Hunt' shows on TV. It has been my experience that typical hunters do not 'hunt' for the largest, best, healthiest animal they can find, they typically shoot the first animal they see. This is because most of the hunters mindset is, "If I don't take this one, I may not see another."
Anybody else hunt differently?

I have an even bigger problem with these types of people, especially the ones who are anti-gun. They are willing to do anything for the Bill of Rights, except they want to get rid of the 2nd Amendment, and they don't realize that if you let the government take away one right, the gov. won't stop. The government is like a mouse, and that right is like a cookie.

Rosie O'Donnell; Syndrome
Ever notice when the fat tard gets into a "discussion" she shouts her opponent down and does not allow them to respond to her rants
the reason is simple
They have not bothered to research their position past emotionalism and can not back up their comments so they do not want to hear any opposing views
When we get frustrated with their stupidity and give up or when they get the last word in and then hide behind blocked response they think they made intelligent points because they was no counter point
In short they are idiots and Rosie is their god and mentor

I have noticed this same problem with all liberals... It doesnt matter whether its antihunters, environmentalists or political types.... No matter what message board they are on they do this. I notice on youtube the hunters leave the responces open to all but the liberals immediately erase any message they dont like... Its immature and they dont understand reason... Inside they know that there opinions dont stand up to common sense so they retreat and avoid serious dialog.....

you know cam i was at my mechanics getting the car inspected and i was showing the guys in the shop ( who i know ) my rifles since i was going to the range and had them in the trunk... some people acted like the rifles were snakes and could have bit them and others loved them and wanted to see them. different people have different opinions cam. and sometimes people who hate guns can get fanatical. unless all guns are taken away from everybody a world without guns is not going to happen..its a fantasy that gun haters like to dream..look at england..even the cops over there are carrying guns now...when years ago they did'nt.. the world changes and these people have to understand it.
p.s sorry i'm not the greatest writer haha i write like hell.. thats what a NYC education gets you haha
