Is it just believers who are the Bride or there is something more?

Do you think God has a criteria or something that can make a believer a Bride?

Or is it all the believers, Do you think there can be guests only at the wedding?

Scriptures very much appreciated.

Update:

Actually this question was inspired by another question.

Individuals are not the brideS of Christ. The bride of Christ is the whole true Church -- those who have the spirit of God in them and are being guided by it.

Revelation 21:9 -- Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife."

Note it says 'bride' and 'wife' not 'brideS' and 'wives'.

What do you mean by guests, and "guests only?"

There are several metaphors that the Bible uses for Christians. One is the bride of Christ, as the church. Another is the body of Christ, which is the church. Another place where the term "bride of the lamb" is applied to the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:9).

Guests at the wedding is found in a parable of Jesus', and is in a mixed metaphor where the bride and the guests at the wedding are symbols that are used for believers. The NT writers were not constrained by Western writing styles that do not permit mixing of metaphors, they did it often and freely.

The Bride of Christ is the congregation of believers. The congratulation (church) are the ones that have been baptized and profess that Jesus is their Lord and Messiah. The 144,000 that stand before the throne are taken from the 12 tribes of Israel, as the scriptures point out. The Great crowd that stand before the throne are taken from the gentile nations. These make up the congregation or church of Christ.

It is the brides who have oil in their lamps. Basically it is the one's who hear the word of God and do it, to the best of their abilities. The foolish are the ones who go cramming the churches after a terrorist attack but not before.

M't:25:1: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

M't:25:2: And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

M't:25:3: They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

M't:25:4: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

M't:25:5: While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

M't:25:6: And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

M't:25:7: Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

M't:25:8: And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

M't:25:9: But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

M't:25:10: And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

M't:25:11: Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

M't:25:12: But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

M't:25:13: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

    Matthew 25:1-13...

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and WENT FORTH to meet the Bridegroom, and five of them were, FOOLISH !

And five of them, WISE !!!

They that were foolish, took their lamps, and took NO OIL with them : But the WISE, took OIL in their VESSELS, with their lamps. WHILE THE BRIDE GROOM TARRIED, they ALL slumbered, and slept .

And at midnight, there was a CRY made ( The Watchmen of the Lord ) , Behold, the bridegroom cometh : go ye out to meet Him. Then ALL those virgins AROSE, and trimmed their lamps.

And the FOOLISH said unto the WISE, Give us your OIL : for our lamps are GONE OUT !

    But the WISE answered, saying..............

NOT SO ! Lest there be not enough for us, and, you.: BUT : Go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And , while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came : and they that were READY went in with Him to the Marriage :

AND THE DOOR WAS SHUT !

Afterward, came also the OTHER virgins, saying Lord , Lord, open to us . But He answered and said, VERILY, I say unto you I know you not.

WATCH THEREFORE, FOR YE KNOW NEITHER THE DAY NOR THE HOUR WHEREIN THE SON OF MAN COMETH...

Well, after I posted, I went back, as always, and read the previous posts. so, I guess you have a witness of two...

    Bless Ya !

  • Read Revelation 21. I think all your concerns will be cleared up on that. It tells you in there who will be the ones that are there.

Don't have doubt or fear to believe in the impossible!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not an actual bride & groom thing. Its the 144,000 that will be saved and rule by his/her side forever.
