Stopped at a red light, car behind me thought light turned green, rear ended me. Who's at fault?
I was stopped at a red light, foot on brake, lane I was in also had a turning lane next to me, that was for turning left, the lane I was in was for going straight, the car behind me, thought our light to go straight turned green, when in fact it was the turning lane light. She rear ended me, I was taken by ambulance to the hopsital with neck/shoulder injuries, I live in California and people I've talked to say it was her fault. Trying to find out if this is indeed true?
I also over heard telling the cop, that I started to go, then stopped. Not true though, I was on the brake the whole time.
Thank you all very much for helping me out with this!

There's not even a slight chance they'll blame you so don't worry about it and focus on getting better!
Cheers!

Get a copy of the accident report and see if she was ticketed. Even if your light was green - not saying it was but even if - running into the back end of another car is totally illegal and the driver that does it is at fault and should pay for damage to your car, injuries (medical treatment & pain) to you and for any missed work at the very least. Call your insurance co pronto and do not in any way indicate to anyone that there is any question whose fault this is.

I Ca just about every time you are rear ended its the person who hit you fault. Since you were stopped at a red light its her fault

her fault, trust me. you cannot drive someone elses car while you are driving yours . you are only responsible for what you do . if you were to rear end someone it would really be your fault. this is one reason why you shouldn't worry about someone getting too close ( paranoid) where you always watch your rear view and stepping on the gas to keep someone off your tail.if you rear end someone else in trying to keep someone from rear ending you, you are at fault

You were stopped at a red light. SHE HIT YOU. She is at fault. You were following the law. She was not paying attention.

it's her fault since she rearended you and it's not like you just stop suddenly.
remember call her insurance company for the compensation

her fault she has to look ahead of her to make sure the path is clear.it would be your fault if you put the car in reverse and backed into her, right?

Her fault. Failure to control her vehicle. Call your insurance company.
