My teacher just told me I've opened a can of worms. What stores carry worms?

And why have I never heard of this before?

Worms are sold at bait stores - used for fishing.

If you live in a major metropolitan area, you can find them in a Moldavian grocery store.

They are considered a delicacy when eaten on a Zweiback cracker with a dollop of fresh goat cheese.

It's an idiomatic expression, that means that you started with a topic that NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would bring up, without raising some eyebrows.......My boss does it all the time in meetings......I means starting a subject that makes everyone cringe..........So, she means next time either zip your lip, or THINK before you say something of any consequence.....

She means you let the "cat out of the bag!" You opened your mouth and told something that was not known to other people!

Well, they usually call them BAIT 'N TACKLE shops. That might be where the confusion lay.

Wal-mart, back in sporting goods. Should be in a little mini-fridge.
