    if I want to win...

... wits first, wits second, wits third,

and then whichever method is selected confirmed and acquired by my wits...

which is (almost) invariably my tongue!

    (but not always!)

there are 'struggles' which require a no-holds barred approach though... but for these I'm usually naked!

    -------

and I've just twigged what it is that this Question reminded me of... it's been driving me bonkers...

    Dr Zeuss!!!

*remembering , so possibly wrong but here goes...*

If a Beetle has paddle in a puddle in a bottle

thats a beetle bottle puddle paddle

and if a beetle has a battle with a paddle in a bottle

thats a beetle bottle paddle battle...

    AND...

If a Beetle has a battle with a paddle in a puddle in a bottle...,

    THATs a

    Beetle Bottle Puddle Paddle Battle...

From (I think) Fox in Socks!!

hah! it was Fox in Socks... but the quote should be...

"Now, when Tweetle Beetles fight, it's called a Tweetle Beetle Battle.

And when they battle in a puddle, it's a Tweetle Beetle Puddle Battle.

AND when Tweetle Beetles battle with paddles in a puddle, they call it a Tweetle Beetle Puddle Paddle Battle.

AND when Beetles battle Beetles in a Puddle Paddle Battle, and the beetle battle's puddle is a puddle in a bottle, they call this a Tweetle Beetle Bottle Puddle Paddle Battle Muddle.

AND when Tweetles fight these battles in a bottle with their paddles, and the bottle's on a poodle, and the poodle's eating noodles, they call this a Muddle Puddle Tweetle Poodle Beetle Noodle Bottle Paddle Battle.

    AND--"

"Now wait a minute, Mr. Socks Fox!"

My words can soothe, entice, anger or whup a$$! They are always my first choice in any altercation. In the unlikely but not impossible event that my opponent chooses to become physically violent, I have a baseball bat at the ready. I will never again be caught unprepared.

I have managed to talk myself out of a few fights in my day. The last time I wasn't able to, the bouncer came to my rescue and put the guy in his place. I'm a lover, not a fighter!

  • I prefer to use my tongue first. It is generally sufficient as it can be quite scathing. I don't think have ever had to resort to fisticuffs. Though I have been known to just run.

    There's a quote I'm looking for,

but can't locate right at the moment ...

something to the effect of --

It's a sure sign that one has run out of

    words and intelligence when he

resorts to violence to solve his problems.

    "Fair peace becomes men;

ferocious anger belongs to beasts." - Ovid

Well since the police won't be too happy to see me again so soon ... I'll try to talk them down for a while.
