What makes United States of America a world power?

I believe you mean "super power". We are considered the only true super power in the world. The Soviet Union used to be one until its collapse.

Russia and China have potential of becoming one, and currently are very strong powers. They just lack the economic influence the US has.

Also, it is very easy to pick and chose which people you want to show on your little comedy piece. I'm sure most people aren't that stupid if you did an actual poll. It is a poor sample of our intelligence.

A superpower is determined by military strength, economic strength, and the social being of it's citizens. But you are right. With the United States being the largest superpower in the world, but also the largest capitalist economy, they are one of the most coercive and expansionist nations in human existence, who are in close competition with historical Great Britain and the Roman Empire. Much of their economic growth comes from their capitalists by lending money to 3rd world countries, leeching off their cheap labor, and carrying the wealth back to their homes in America.

The ability to innovate, the means to implement and the knowhow to market make the US a world power. No country in the world (with the exception of Japan) can match the Americans' dynamism.

America does not have the best health care in the world, to anyone that cites that as a reason...I think the US is like 37th or something.
