Recipe for Fresh Tuna Steaks?

I received a good deal on two tuna steaks. The down side is my husband thinks all fish need to be cooked well done. This of course causes tuna to taste like shoe leather. Any ideas how to prepare these so we will both eat them?

Okay, real easy, you both can be pleased.

    1) take some good quality soy, some miso (brown) and some wasabi powder. Mix together to make a marinade

    2) marinade steaks for 2-3 hours, if not completely submerged in liquid, then flip half way through.

    3) Get some whole corriander, whole caraway, and whole cardamon seeds, toast them and then grind them. Make a rub with 2pts corriander, 1pt caraway 1 pt cardamon.

    4) remove steaks, crust in spices

    5) get grill really, really hot

    6) put his on first and cook until halfway cooked then put yours on

    7) only turn steaks over once during cooking, the well done steaks will taste pretty good, but med rare tuna will taste like heaven.

    GRILLED TUNA STEAKS

1 lb. fresh tuna, cut into 4 steaks

Remove skin from the tuna. Preheat a 10 inch browning dish at high for 5 minutes. Add the steaks. Microwave at high for 1-3 minutes or until fresh flakes easily and is no longer pink.

So many ways, so many recipes.

I just wanted to point out that fish doesn't have to be well done... Ever have sushi? Raw fish. YUM!

Cook them like you would enjoy them, he might be surprised if he tastes it. Fish cooks quickly - it's easy to overdo it. If grilling or frying, you may need as little as 4 minutes per side. When it can flake easily with a fork, its done.

If he doesn't like it, he can always put it his back on the pan until he's satisfied.

Here's one recipe - there are literally thousands of ways you could season them and marinade.
