What is the DNC doing?
I was looking at a color-coded map for Hillary and Obama. Without Michigan and Florida it looked like Hillary won more. I was curious so I decided to allot the delegates like the General Election...winner take all! So I listed all the states that Hillary won and I listed all the states that Obama won. I added the total delegate number for all the states that Obama won, that total was 1591. Then I added the total delegate number for all the states that Hillary won which added up to 1810.
So with this type of calculation, Hillary is ahead of Obama. This does not make sense. Also I saw a poll yesterday that indicated Obama would lose to McCain and Hillary was ahead. What is Howard Dean doing? Your thoughts please.
By the way, Michigan and Florida are not counted!!

Unlike the Republicans, the Democratic primaries are not winner-take-all, they are based on some insane apportionment formula so that delegates are split. Under the winner-take-all format, Clinton would be ahead in the delegate count, as you indicated. But don't lay the blame on Howard Dean, since this format was approved by the members of the DNC almost 2 years ago. However, Clinton does poll better against McCain than Obama does, which does give her a valid argument to present to the super delegates. Their job isn't to follow the will of the people; it is to choose whichever candidate they feel will have the best chance in the general election. This whole fiasco is just another indication of the ineptitude of the Democratic Party.

THe Dems don't do winner take all like the Repubs do. In their primaries and caucuses its some sort of proportional distribution thing. So they win delegates based on who won which district (I think).
I don't understand it either, but I like the fact that it keeps them from figuring out who should be their candidate. Keep up the terrible work Howard.

Don't forget to calculate the momentum that they stole from her also.
what is the DNC doing? they're acting like jackasses. =P
Someone needs to slap Howard dean.
There is no doubt in my mind that they screwed this up for her... but it's still not over, she would have been elected by now, and she's still going to win.

Your question makes no sense. So your counting is more correct than the party itself?

the DNC is failing, no thanks to Howard Dean's leadership, or lack thereof.
