If you could force everyone to follow your religion...?
would you do it? why or why not?
Everyone is pretty much saying no which is good, but I just wonder why everyone seemingly always tries to impose their views on others as the "right" view

Oh my, so much indignation! Such protectors freedom!
But, at least so far, not a single answer considered what happens to innocent children that are forced into their parents religion.

No. That would be a monstrous thing to do. Look in the past at all of the people who have tried to force others into a religion of some sort. Those people are considered the worst that humanity has ever had to offer. I believe that people should have a freedom of religion and a freedom from religion. To force it upon them is neither good for the person or the religion.

Hell no in my opinion that's the equivlant to being Hitler.
Diversity is what keeps the world going and forcing someone else to conform gives very unfavorable results people do not enjoy being held down and absoloutely having to follow something that they do not believe in. This would result in riots and essentially speaking a violent break out.
So the answer is no.

No - but then again I don't have a religion and don't believe in organized religion. If I did force everyone to be like me though, there'd be a lot fewer wars, and a lot less misery in the world. Most wars seem to be started over religion.

Absolutely not. You can force someone to behave a certain way but you cannot force someone to believe a certain things. And that makes all of the difference. "As a man thinks in his heart so is he." "God looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart."
Forcing someone to be in a church would not make a person a Christian any more than putting a brick into a bread box makes it a loaf of bread.

Nope! It's not something that can be forced at all! It has to be the persons own choice (well .. really its more the big mans say..) they will be brought to repent.. and it all goes from there. If it was all forced upon us we would never ask questions, never have doubt, we'd all have the one religion - which all sounds quite nice to me, but unfortunately not the way it is

No... I know how that feels as someone tryed very hard to the point of physical harm to do that to me. I am a Wiccan Witch now. NEVER would I force a religion or spiritual path on another. Frankly to do that destroys another's soul. For to travel a path that is not theirs and force them to ignore that path which is theirs, dooms them to repeat their life again in their next cycle. The very idea now makes me ill...

Of course a forced declaration of faith is invalid. As to your second question, people who believe naturally want others to share the blessings of their belief. It's not a bad thing!

No, notwithstanding the fact that religion is a substantial detriment both to individuals and society. People have a right to be foolish.

I won't. True religion, the personal and harmonious relationship with God, cannot be forced on anyone. Otherwise, God would have done it Himself. We shouldn't obey the Father out of fear but rather out of love.
