Fix My PC: 7 Step Guide To PC Fix:
In my computer repair business, I developed a step-by-step checklist for my technicians to follow when troubleshooting and repairing a computer.
Very few Windows PC problems are obvious because almost any error or problem could be caused by several different reasons. So to make it easy, I am going to give you the first 7 steps from the list that I would use if I were sitting at your computer. Naturally, I give my technicians this same list when they go on a computer repair call.

IF you've checked for dust and the CPU fan running, then go to
My Computer> Properties.>Advanced tab.
Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.
Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.
(all this assumed u got XP)
Reboot the computer (in troubleshooting, always switch off the power and then power back on, this takes more stuff out of memory than a "soft" reboot )
As it restarts press F8 then choose to go into Safe mode
this gives you chance to find out the real problem
Run a full anti virus scan and a full anti-spyware scan
then see if it'll start in Normal mode
even if it doesn't it might give error messages saying what is wrong, instead of just rebooting.

It could be virus related or hardware.
Check your motherboard for bloated capacitors (green ones), it should be flat. If its bloated, its due to overheating and the place where it is located can affect the performance of your pc. (like if its near your power supply it can cause the rebooting. It could also be hd going bad due to severe virus. your pc sometimes will prompt you that it has to restart your pc or has recovered from a severe error usually because of virus that can destroy hd.
try safemodes w/ networking for a while and see if it keeps rebooting and try fixing it there with anti-virus programs.

Only two reasons,
one, If before restart the screen goes Blue then it's RAM fault.
else the problem because of virus, Boot via safe mode and scan for Virus.

Have a check in Event Viewer for any errors.
Double click Administrative Tools in Control Panel and select Event Viewer.
Double click any error in the System section in particular and see if there is a consistent error.

Hi
Give this a try Disconnect from the mains power and leave for about an hour and try again. If you have recently added hardware remove it
Come back if you don't get it fixed
Good Luck

can you hear if the fan is on inside the case? It could also be a virus, press F8 on startup and boot in safe mode and try and run your antivirus scanner

There's a way to check if it is a virus but it a lil bit dangerous
go in to safe mode and from run command line open the "regedit" and go to the links below and check the startup objects. delete everything without a pathname like c:\..........
or any files like :"rose.exe autorun.inf" or anything which is not related to the System files "if you know them"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Unless it's a hardware fault like CPU fan or Sys. overheating or Power Supply problem

It sounds like the processor is overheating, and it is cutting out to stop it blowing up. you need to open up the computer and clean any dust of the heat sink as this stops it working properly, it should then work fine.
