What's a good music video to watch? Brother died?

My brother died last night...he is a Christian and his funeral will definitely be Christ centered. He was 53 and died unexpectedly.

Music is something that comforts me, any good music videos out there about heaven?

Update:

I am absolutely blown away by how wonderful you all have been in your sympathies. I wish I could give you all a big hug in person. I've watched and listened to a lot of the numbers and am still trying to get through all of these.

I'm also going to send several of these songs on to family members.

Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart!!!

Update 2:

Thank you once again. I feel that this question deserves a best answer awarded by me. But, I cannot make a decision until I return from the funeral. You have all sent me hours of videos to watch, and some wonderful poetry. I want to make sure I choose wisely on the best answer.

Thank you all for your caring, concern, and wonderful contributions.

You once again have reminded me how blessed I am to know all of you!

And to those who are not sure...this is a legitimate question, as people are supplying answers to me on some great videos.

Thanks again for your prayers and thoughts.

    Precious, precious Searcher! I grieve for your loss, dear one! I am so deeply sorry! I am stunned at this news - and am holding you in Prayer right now.

    I seek the Hymns in times of great grief - and there are many you can find at http://www.cyberhymnal.org/ - where a personal favorite is:

    These are so beautiful - it is like listening to angels.

    I wish there was SOME way I could comfort you, dear one. Since God is able to go before us all - I pray He come to you and comfort you in His loving arms, dear one.

    Peace.

    1st Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this takes place, and the mortal has been changed into the immortal, then the scripture will come true: "Death is destroyed; victory is complete!" "Where, Death, is your victory? Where, Death, is your power to hurt?" Death gets its power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the Law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

    Death Be Not Proud by John Donne (1572-1631)

    DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee

    Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,

    For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,

    Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.

    From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,

    Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,

    And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,

    Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.

    Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,

    And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,

    And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,

    And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;

    One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,

    And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.

    Psalm 126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Though he goeth on his way weeping, bearing forth the seed; he shall come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

    Romans 8:38-39 I am sure that nothing can separate us from God's love--not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!

    1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 My friends, we want you to understand how it will be for those followers who have already died. Then you won't grieve over them and be like people who don't have any hope. We believe that Jesus died and was raised to life. We also believe that when God brings Jesus back again, he will bring with him all who had faith in Jesus before they died. Our Lord Jesus told us that when he comes, we won't go up to meet him ahead of his followers who have already died. With a loud command and with the shout of the chief angel and a blast of God's trumpet, the Lord will return from heaven. Then those who had faith in Christ before they died will be raised to life. Next, all of us who are still alive will be taken up into the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the sky. From that time on we will all be with the Lord forever. Encourage each other with these words.

    2nd Corinthians 1:3-6 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in trouble. We share in the terrible sufferings of Christ, but also in the wonderful comfort he gives. We suffer in the hope that you will be comforted and saved. And because we are comforted, you will also be comforted, as you patiently endure suffering like ours.

    Peace.

    I don't know if there is a video out there on this one but the moody Blues have a awesome song called "Never blame the rainbows for the rain."

    Sailing along

    the river of time.

    Adrift on Dreams

    through midnight chimes.

    Positively frozen, Crystal waterfalls.

    The mountain of hope, is there to be climbed.

    The sea of serenity is rightfully mine.

    Step onto the water knowing what is true.

    Never blame the rainbows for the rain

    and learn to forget the memories

    that cause you pain.

    The last whispered wish of age

    is to live it all again

    So never blame the rainbows for the rain.

    The beat of my heart

    the rhythm of love.

    The earth that's beneath us

    and the heaven's above.

    I can hear forever calling out to me!!

    Never blame the rainbows

    and learn to forget the memories

    that cause you pain.

    The last whispered wish of age

    is to live it all again.

    so never blame the rainbows for the rain.

    The whirlpool of doubt, can spin you around

    The wave of emotion

    takes you up, takes you down.

    Leaving far behind us sweet young passions spray!!

    So Never blame the rainbows for the rain

    and learn to forget the memories

    that cause you pain

    the last whispered wish of age

    Is to live it all again

    So never blame the rainbows for the rain.

    The Moody Blues have always got a song or two for all occasions. However if that doesn't work well than I suggest this one since your brother was a Christian.

    " I can only imagine!" by Mercy me.

    And in closing may i offer my most heartfelt sympathies and prayers at this time in your families life.

    My most sincere sympathy for your loss. Words are just not enough, but they do help. I too fine some peace in music. Here are a few songs that I find comfort in at times like this.

    The Living Years -- Mike & the Mechanics

    Live Like You Were Dying -- Tim McGraw

    Wish You Were Here -- Pink Floyd

    Oh Danny Boy -- A beautiful Irish song

    They may not be directly about Heaven, but they ease the pain of your loss.

    God bless you and be with you in your time of sudden sorrow.

    Peace n Luv! xxx

    I'm so sorry to hear that.

    I lost a friend last year - she was 22 and it was very unexpected - and someone posted this Pablo Neruda poem on her myspace page. I found it comforting:

    "Clenched Soul

    We have lost even this twilight.

    No one saw us this evening hand in hand

    while the blue night dropped on the world.

    I have seen from my window

    the fiesta of sunset in the distant mountain tops.

    Sometimes a piece of sun

    burned like a coin in my hand.

    I remembered you with my soul clenched

    in that sadness of mine that you know.

    Where were you then?

    Who else was there?

    Saying what?

    Why will the whole of love come on me suddenly

    when I am sad and feel you are far away?

    The book fell that always closed at twilight

    and my blue sweater rolled like a hurt dog at my feet.

    Always, always you recede through the evenings

    toward the twilight erasing statues."

    I'm glad your faith gives you comfort.

    I don't know if this is your thing, but Alison Krauss does a beautiful version of "I'll Fly Away."

    Music gets me through a lot, though it's usually more about sounds than lyrics. I'll see if I can find anything on youtube for you.

    As far as lyrics go, Chris Smither (http://www.chrissmither.com)/ and George Harrison are my standbys. Chris was been through the rough and come out the other side. His music has helped me through some of the worst patches of my life.

    And George Harrison, when he's doing that pop gospel thing on All Things Must Pass, it's just love. Here are two of his that are a bit more mellow. I don't know if they're what you need, but they're special to me.

    I really can't think of any. I just wanted to post to so I could tell you how very sorry I am for your loss and for your pain. Have you thought about maybe listening to classical? Vivaldi's the Four Seasons is comforting, Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme by Paginini is lovely. I just wish there was something I could do to ease your pain. Peace be with you and yours.

    Oh I'm so very sorry. I'm trying to think what we played at my son's funeral but I can't remember exactly which songs we used. I know some were by Sherry Youngward http://www.sherriyoungward.com/music_words.aspx

    Listen to "Peace" on this album

    http://www.sherriyoungward.com/music_faces.aspx

    There were also songs done by my sister's church but I can't remember those either. Sorry . :(

    Here's a link with song ideas. http://christianmusic.about.com/od/specialcharts/t... I Can Only Imagine is wonderful. My sister read those lyrics at my grandpa's wake.

    Mercy Me has a song called Homesick. I think it fits perfectly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHkqvxdmCH8

    Tile :Mercy Me - Homesick

    This is lyrics from www.lyrics007.com

    You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times

    And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you

    But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry

    Is how long must I wait to be with you

    I close my eyes and I see your face

    If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

    Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

    I've never been more homesick than now

    Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways

    The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know

    But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same

    Cause I'm still here so far away from home

    I close my eyes and I see your face

    If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

    Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

    I've never been more homesick than now

    In Christ, there are no goodbye

    And in Christ, there is no end

    So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have

    To see you again

    To see you again

    And I close my eyes and I see your face

    If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

    Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

    Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

    Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

    I've never been more homesick than now

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Read 2 Corinthians 5: 1-8
    FOR we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
    For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,
    if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.
    For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
    Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
    So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.
    For we walk by faith, not by sight.
    We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
    Again, I'm so sorry. (((hugs)))
    They played that country song by Dolly and (Brad Paisley? )
    "When I Get Where I'm Going" at my moms funeral as it was
    one of her favorite songs. I have not had the heart to look and see if it is available on YouTube- I still cannot listen to it without breaking down..
    Another one that is not exactly religious but celebrates life is The Dance by Garth Brooks
    My thoughts are with you dear.
    much love
    Searcher, my heart truly goes out to you. I have been absent for awhile dealing with my own demons, and I don't think it's a coincidence that I just happened to get on here now and see your question. I can so relate to your statement about music comforting you, as it also comforts me, and actually a big part of my testimony many years ago revolves around how God used music to finally reach me. Music to this day is very important to me and I'm sure it will be until I'm a part of God's angelic choir. After doing some searching, I found this video of John Michael Talbot singing one of his many, many incredibly anointed songs called "Only in God". If you aren't familiar with him, he is a Catholic monk (with an amazing history beginning in secular music before being touched and called by God), and God has used him to reach countless people over the years, including me. I have seen him perform in person several times, but I haven't listened to his music in quite a while. I just sat here watching this video, and especially listening to the words, and it moved me to tears. I pray that it will touch you also in this time of your great need. It isn't about Heaven so much, but it does remind us Who our stronghold is in time of need. It is simply a reminder for whatever you need to be reminded of. It reminded me of what I needed to be reminded of in my life now. You are such a special person here on R&S, and I just wanted you to know that you are special to me. May God grant you and your family His peace that will pass all understanding.
    I am so sorry for your loss. My brother died six weeks ago suddenly at the age of 31.
    We used Linkin Park, Shadow of the Day for his tribute DVD backing. Every time I hear the song now it moves me.
    Bless.
