What is the difference between the truth and the absolute truth?
I know it is truth that I am sitting on a chair, but I wouldn't call it absolute truth.
Does that mean there is room for me to doubt that I am sitting on a chair?
Two hypothetical situations:
People say that God's existence is the absolute truth
People say the Earth being (almost) spherical is the truth
Which one is doubted more (logically indicating more room for doubt)?
Is the truth, therefore, more statistically true than the absolute truth?
If so, how come the less statistically true truth is absolute, while that corroborated by the majority of intelligent life is not absolute?
Can I say it is an absolute truth that America is located 13 miles outside of Earth's atmosphere?

My Dear One, you can take anything -- and I do mean Anything -- and try and make it Absolute. It's all in one's "Perception of Things". People perceive things in truths and falsehoods. This is a problem with our species. We're not old enough to see things in shades of grey yet. Like children, we're only seeing things in blacks and whites, yeses and noes, truths and lies. That's why we kill each other in the Names of the Divine. We're not old enough to realize that God as a Whole is and can be All and None at the same time. All we have to do is be kind towards our fellow creatures (what a concept...)
You can choose to think anything you like. Just be kind, please.

Don't confuse truth with fact.
Truth is a subjective concept, open to interpretation by anyone. Your truth may be my belly laugh.
Fact, on the other hand is totally objective, provable by scientific investigation and quantifiable data and is irrefutable by any and all.
Now lets examine your examples:
1. People say that God's existence is the absolute truth
Ans. People can and will say anything. It may or may not be either truth or fact.
2. People say the Earth being (almost) spherical is the truth
Ans. Scientists have proven that the earth is spherical and have the data to substantiate that fact.
3. Is the truth, therefore, more statistically true than the absolute truth? If so, how come the less statistically true truth is absolute, while that corroborated by the majority of intelligent life is not absolute?
Ans. Hunh? Whether it's "truth" or "absolute truth" it's still subjective. I think therefore I am? What about slime mold? It doesn't think, but I can tell you for a fact that slime mold exists.
4. Can I say it is an absolute truth that America is located 13 miles outside of Earth's atmosphere?
Ans. Certainly! You can say anything you want, but the fact is America is NOT located 13 miles outside the earth's atmosphere. And your statement would be my belly laugh.

Truth is totally relative. Take a 10 foot diameter rock. YOU see it as something totally solid and impenetrable, and for you, it IS. But for a neutrino, the same rock berely exists, and it can fly right through it as though it wasn't even there. The non-existence of the Rock would be truth for the neutrino. BOTH truths are absolutely true for the perciever and yet BOTH truths are absolutely false to the opposite perceiver. It's ALL 100% a matter of perspective.

I say TRUTH is what man perceives, believes, decides or views for himself from his personal perspective or point of view.
Absolute truth is only known to God and we will not have that truth while in this life.
Truth therefore is a subjective thing and we seek & find the truth(s) that suit us best and with which we are most comfortable or confident.

Actually you can't say that its an absolute truth that america is located 13 miles outside of Earth's atmosphere - here is why:
While the probability for america being in orbit around earth and god's existence are both equally non-existent (ie, if you were to launch from earth in a spaceship to find america in orbit, or god, the statistical probability of finding both are non-existent) - their is one thing that separates the two. God's existence isn't falsifiable. America being in orbit around earth is. Since it is falsifiable, it can be disproved to such a high probability that we can be sure of it, but not absolutely sure of it. Since God isn't falsifiable, people deal with his existence with absolutes (or absolute stupidity - you chose).
I personally suggest you substitute "the absolute truth" in your question with "dogma". "Absolute truth" make it sound like its a positive and desirable thing - but it really isn't.

Well, it all depends on who would consider what an absolute truth. I don't suppose EVERYBODY thinks that the existence of God is an absolute truth.
As for me, I think the truth is sth relative ans that which cannot be experienced from any point of view is not real.
Confused? I am too, believe me.

Truth is a relative term which is the point of view from the knower of this truth. It can be falsehood from any other persons point of view.
Similarly there is only One absolute truth.Thats why we call it ABSOLUTE and nothing else.
You cannot refute this Absolute truth any which way.

I would suggest that there is no such thing as an "absolute truth",... especially pertaining to religion.
Christians fight constantly about what the bible says or means, so that is useless as an "absolute" anything!
Maybe there is in math, but even then I doubt it.

is there any absolute truth? Am I here? how do I know for sure?
I think even "truth" is relative, for not everyone can agree on any one thing. I doubt if there is one thing that everyone in the world would agree on, and even if there were, would that agreement render it true?
maybe.... maybe not.

If you are sitting on a chair, either you are, or you're not.
Absolute truth.
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. The natural man cannot perceive the things that are of God.
