To those that don't by this Global Warming hoax -?

Who are we going to vote for this presidential election?

Everyone of the presidential candidates are all for raising taxes, taxing industry (who is just going to pass costs off to its consumers), and lower levels of the gas we exhale. I was going to take the plunge and vote for McCain come Nov, but I don't think I can stomach it now.

Major points before you answer:

1) This is not a debate about whether or not Global warming exists. If you believe in it, you have your pick of the litter so don't answer.

2) I understand that you will vote based on more issues than just this one.

Personally, I'm at a total loss.

McCain is the lesser of 2 (3?) evils, but not by much.

The opposing sides don't represent the true feeling of the voters on either side so it will be other issues that determine the voter's choice. That there is Global Warming is a given; that we humans should do our best not to pollute the environment is a given; that we humans should be ashamed of our consumption and that we humans are the cause of Global Warming is not a given. That is the dividing point. Al Gore used the guilt factor to make a lot of money, even picked up a Nobel Peace Prize. The earth is warming, the ice caps are calving but not driving our Fords and Nissan's to work and riding a bicycle is not the answer. Blaming the developed countries only delayed the scientific community when they should have been looking for earth related reasons.

I have heard McCain speak of global warming but the other two have been preaching it. All I want is some one that will not tax me to death and be willing to fight to save our freedoms and McCain is the only one that has proven that he will fight and denied himself his own freedom while being held as a P.O.W.

He may not be the best candidate but he is so far ahead of the other two that it is laughable.

I could vote McCain based on the fact that he put his fellow P.O.W.s ahead of his own freedom. That is leadership.

Of course there are many other issues to look at but you have to look at the morality of the person first to know that he will do the right thing.

Pancakes is more than just a little accurate.

But you have to remember this, any tax that any president wants must go through Congress. Thus, the best thing we can do for any of these liberal presidential candidates is to force our Representatives and Senators to vote against any, ANY tax based upon global warming. I live in Louisiana, and believe me, the power of the people speak a lot louder than any president. Look at what we forced Mary Landrieu to do.

I'll be looking to the third parties, either Libertarian or Constitution party. After looking at some of the third party front runners, it looks like the third parties have slim pickings too.

If we could AT LEAST get a guy who was advocating free market solutions to "Global Warming" I could go for that, because the hysteria would end if the free market was satisfied with progress that it makes and we don't have to wait for tax hungry beurucrats to tell us when this invisible enemy is destroyed.

It's not about "global warming". It's about how badly we have managed to f*ck up the environment in general. The planet is not getting "warmer". We are rapidly destablizing our overall environment and habitat. We're killing off the oceans, which destablizes the atmosphere. And there's no fish. We've polluted both the air and the soil, which means that we can't grow food like we used to. The cows are all mad, and the chickens all have the bird flu. So the weather is screwy and we are running out of food. Oh yeah, and we're also having random earthquakes in funny places all over the world (probably from all the mining and oil drilling).

And it's not like we have anywhere else to go. This ain't Star Trek, people!

Yes, addressing the environment in a more responsible manner is an important issue. HOWEVER, I will NOT vote for whichever hamster that uses "global warming" as his pet catchphrase.

  • I'm in the same boat. But when you look at the big picture, McCain is the only candidate that I feel like I could actually sleep at night.

There is an almost entire race of people that have continiously sworn to kill every last American. And they are rooting for the democrats to win the general election. Makes it a simple decision for me.

McCain isn't a global warming alarmist. I don't believe global warming is as severe a problem as the proponents make it out to be, but everyone can agree that our industries do create environmental problems. That is an issue we can address, and McCain's way of doing it is sound. Obama and Clinton are unrealistic, they would sacrifice our economies to save the planet. We need capitalist solutions to solve these problems.

I'm only voting this year if the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc Quebecois decide to force an election by defeating a major Conservative motion. And I will be voting for Stephen Harper if that happens.
