Why are adults who are not parents always be descriminated against ?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7402074.stm

We get few of the monies generated by tax as given to those with children and now we will also have to come 2nd to fathers and mothers when it comes to holiday leave ?! Is it about time we had the same income tax laws as some of the scandanavian countries and those without children should pay less ?

Update:

Okay ... this is not "whining" this is a statement of truth about how those that pay an unfair tax an have nothing to show for it are now going to be told that they cannot go on holiday when we want.

As for the future, the country is already one of the most densely populated in the world ... why should the country need any more children ? Quality, is more important than quantity.

i replace into continuously a tomboy becoming up and to this present day I appreciate enjoying activities. What annoyed me is the certainty that I had to teach myself till now the lads popular me. the parable that ladies are the fairer intercourse is something maximum women in recent times can't get far flung from. There are hard women accessible, ya comprehend. Oh, I very just about forgot something. Being referred to as "sexy" isn't a compliment for many women. lol. I purely ignore approximately men who do this because of the fact that could be a term that is demeaning while coming from somebody you don't comprehend. an uncomplicated "good morning" will do. good question...right this is a action picture star.

If we want mankind to continue and the economy to prosper we have to give flexible working conditions to parents.

Otherwise we exclude a valuable part of society from the workforce.

However I also believe that anyone who is not a parent should not be discriminated against in any way when it comes to holiday leave or working hours.

As a trade union representative I have heard such grievances expressed by those who are not parents.

Employers need to do their best to find arrangements that suit parents, non parents and company alike.

Easier said than done I´m afraid.

The holiday thing is not on . I think its should be equal rights to leave in peak time , although before I had kids the last thing I wanted was leave when all the kids are off . For one thing everything costs twice as much .

With regards to tax I think it should be viewed as a society rather than individual benefit . Just as it will be my kids who when they start work will be funding the pension pot through their NI conts . I think some people still think their Ni conts are going into their own private pension pot . We are paying for the pensioners now .

So I could object that if you remain childless into pensioner hood that my kids are funding your state pension .

I don't as it happens . I 'm in the minority on here and think we should all try and look out for each other as a society .

I don't know - its not fair on you non-breeders.

Much of the extra cost of having kids is directly due to the government - which isn't fair on us parents either.

Just because I (as a parent) am oppressed by the government, it does not mean I support others being oppressed - that would be petty, vindictive and selfish (just like the government)

I also agree with you on this one, and also, the fact that colleges students get more priviledges then those who are not. Have to do your homework,? go ahead take off. Have a class to attend? go ahead, the other will do your work. But if i need to go to my friends wedding or need to get my car fixed- you need to submit 5 forms and tell us two months in advance.

This government are blind to the existence of single people - which explains Gordon Browns repetitive mantra phrase "hardworking families". He cannot say hardworking people.

The tax laws and breaks and holidays for parents is designed to promote having children, so the population grows, and the economy flourishes. Also so that we don't become minorities in our own country. If it was more attractive not to have kids, we would have a serious problem in about two generations.

Edit, we all pay unfair taxes stud. If you don't want to pay, move to a tax haven. But don't come back when your old and feeble and expect free health care and a pension, that my kids are paying for.
