Apply to a university of 4 year college as an undecided major. Then once admitted, immediately make an appointment to see a career counselor on your campus. He or she will have you take the discover and/or focus test which you will answer questions on whether you like math, writing, working with people, working alone, etc. and based on your answers you will be given a list of potential majors that might suit you according to what you like and what you don't. Then you can take intro courses in some of those fields and take your general education courses too. If after the intro course you find you don't like it, you take 2-3 new intro courses the following semester or quarter and by the time you're a junior, you'll have found something you enjoy.

Source(s): I'm now a grad student. I went to college right out of high school and majored in business- I hate math, hate having to be "the boss" and hated my field. I dropped out and worked all kinds of stupid jobs. I finally went back and just went undecided. I found that I like psychology and biology, so I majored in both, but that was after taking about 8 intro courses to figure things out first. You'll get there!

Guess what I am unemployed with no debt but still it suck and I have you beat on how long its been 8 months before that it was over 1 year so my luck is bad, I gave up for a bit but now I am looking again. I live in a crappy state and with little or no jobs. You say you don't like to cook but caterering is really nice I did it when I was 17. I would do that again but I only finished pastry cook and line cook diploma. You might not like to cook but you need money so please don't be picky. You have to do what you have (need) to in life to get what you want and right now you need money for bills. Find a job to enjoy while you have a job to stay out of debt. Anyone who say a temp service is what you need is a fool they didn't understand that TEMP means TEMPORARY. Temps are a waste of time trying when you could get a real JOB. Take anything that comes your way no matter how crappy till you find a better one. Keep looking don't give up, it will only depress you more and hold you back. Trust me I know how it is.

You love fashion, but hate to sew, so why not try to make a career in fashion retailling? Right now, you could try to get a job as a sales assistant at a nice, fashion-oriented store - in fact, if you know anyone working in a nice store, call in a favour and ask them to recommend you for a job. If you decide you like it, start to take business and fashion business classes at your local community college, part-time. Eventually, get your associates degree from them.

A cc is a reputable option, and it's extremely inexpensive, relative to other types of schools. They should also take some of your old classes as transfer credits, giving you a bit of a head start toward a degree.

As you advance in your studies, and gain retail experience, start looking at moving up into an assistant manager job. Eventually (and you may or may not need a bachelors degree to do this), move to store management. From there, you can either become a district manager, or move into corporate.

You can actually do really well in retail management. In a nice store, it can be lucrative. And if you prove yourself there, you can move up. I have a friend, a district manager now, who manages something like 5 or 10 stores in an upscale electronics goods chain. He makes six figures. Without a bachelors degree - he has an associates. So if you're good at this, and based on your interest in fashion, you might be, it can be a great career.

You are not alone. This is a common problem. I was in your situation. I went into business when I wish I had realized that I should have gone into math and science because I don't like nonsense. I don't like drama and games. Math and science are challenging and impersonal. It is what it is. You should speak with a career counselor and see about taking an assessment test to find where your interests may lie. What is your ideal work environment? Health care is a great field with lots of different opportunities. Do you like numbers? Do you like the idea of working in a lab on various research projects? Biochemistry and Biochemical Engineering are huge. You are going to work hard no matter what you choose to do so go with what you love. Don't worry about the hard work because it will be there no matter what.

just go in college undecided, and take all different kinds of classes, including one's you've never heard of. if you dont like the class, you can switch classes in the first week, and you can pick something else. within a year you'll know what you want to do.

and, while you're doing that, you are takin all your general required classes, so you're still moving right along.

Source(s): i did it in my first year, and i took 8 different classes one per major, and i finally decided what i wanted to do.
