Satan can quote a scripture???
Can you tell from these two accounts how Satan twisted it?
Please explain the difference he made in the message?
Mathew 4: 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
v 6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psalm 91
11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Please read it again carefully ,sorry but you missed it .
I was asking what did Satan took away from the scripture when he quoted Psalm 91 in the Mathew account where he tempted Christ?
This is just a simple "spot the not".
You all missed it, sorry.

No Satan can not quote a scripture ,he misquoted Psalm 91. He omitted a the phrase , "to keep thee in all thy ways".
See how Satan twisted it? In Mathew 4:6, compare it to Psalm 91 below.

Many can quote scriptures from the Bible... it is possible. But this 'many' do not share the same interpretation or accept the implied interpretation to accommodate their own personal opinions. But then again, also, many under the guidance of the Holy Spirit can fully grasp the message told in the scriptures. Quoting scriptures is easy. Understanding the whole Bible, in accordance to the way it was written not on a biased interpretation, is a Gift. for the person above, who mentioned something about Baptism and the Trinity: Read Matthew 28: 18 - 19. "" Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,...""

Of course Satan and his servants can quote Scripture, and do, often.
Usually, when someone stubs a toe (dashes their foot against a stone), it is a harm done by accident. But Satan was advocating doing the harm (read: evil) on purpose, intentionally doing harm.
We all cause harm -- whether to our selves or others. Mostly it is by accident, sometimes as revenge, and sometimes in the belief that it will prevent or minimize other pending harm. But some cause harm on purpose (these are truly sick puppies).
But in essence Satan was saying it's OK to sin (do harm and evil), because God will cover for you. But that is NOT the meaning of the Scriptures. It is UNintended sin that God has provided forgiveness for (Numbers 15:25).
Taking isolated Scriptures out of the context of the whole Word of God is one of Satan's chief means of deceiving the religious minded of the world.
So, yes, Jesus (and all of God's people) could trust in God to send his angels to protect us from dangers that might cause us to stumble spiritually. We don't have to worry about dying unintentionally, or unexpectedly in such a way as to leave our salvation in doubt. {As you can see, tangents to this Scripture and topic are many. So, I'll leave it at that.}

Are you talking about where Satan says give his angels charge concerning thee...instead of giving the angels charge "over thee to keep in all thy ways"? He is for sure a trickster!!!

It is not that the devil changes the words in some way, it is the intention behind the words... a sort of misapplication of a good verse.
And your point also demonstrates that the Bible itself is not the word of God. The resource below will explain what the Original word of God was all about.
Warning: I have been told that this link is controversial... so this is not for those who want to continue thinking as you have been taught...

I think the main problem is that in that passage, the Psalmist is taking refuge in being under God's care, and knowing that God it their provider. It is not something to be taken so literally, but simply a statement of encouragement. Anyone who looks at the people of Israel would know that the literal sense of this passage simply isn't true, but yet, they still know that God is faithful to deliver them. Satan is taking that passage out of context and asking Jesus to do something selfish for his own glory, and not so much for the glory of God (I know that doesn't quite make sense since Jesus is God, but hopefully you get my drift).

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Oh he quotes it alright.
But if you notice something about the enemy, he always addresses and quotes the word from a Questioning standpoint.
He told the Lord" IF" He was the Son of God...Satan knows that Jesus is the Son of God, yet he deliberately puts " IF" infront of his question.
He did the same thing with Eve in the garden... asking her... " Did God say?"
Of course he knew what God said to Adam and Eve, but he went about causing Eve to Question God's intentions and instructions.
If we notice with ourselves also, the enemy always comes in as a "?"
He gets us in our reasoning mind like he did with Eve. Even before she committed the actual act of sin and bit into the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, satan had already corrupted her mind..
So he will quote God, but it is never with the intention of strenghtening or supplying, it is with the intention of creating questions and doubts. He knows that once he gets one question in, it is like a domino effect. One question will lead to another and then its downhill from there. Check with each and every athiest on this forum as proof.
BUT HALLELUJAH!
The Lord said. IT IS WRITTEN. This One Who is the LIVING WORD OF GOD, this One who came to us FILL of GRACE and TRUTH stopped satan dead in his tracks with the Words that He spoke, which were SPIRIT and LIFE. His words were filled and saturated with the Spirit's Power and they were filled with LIFE that dispells all the darkness and death that proceed from the enemy.
Halleujah.. sister.. we have such a One living in us today!
Col 3:16a
..LET the word of Christ dwell in you richly!...
Ty for posting this question.
Just makes my heart full of Joy!

"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

Satan can indeed quote scripture. Satan can use anything that is manmade to turn us toward him. Scripture is written by man, even though it is inspired by God.
