Best Answer?

HI.

I have wondered the same thing, but I did get my curiosity solved.

(1) It's because most of the Users do not know how to choose a best answer :-(

(2) It's because their question receives great answers and they do not know which answer to choose as best, so they let the Community vote :-(

(3) It's because some of the Users are point gaming. For example: Jack asks a question, then intentionally allows the question to go to Community vote, then he lets his friend " Stacy" answer the question. Once the question goes to voting, Jack and his friends vote for Stacy's answer, which gives her the best answer. This attitude is very popular, and it is very hard to turn them in for cheating.

(4) It's because sometime the questioner may forget about the question, or leaves the site temporarily.

With church, my wife, kids(3), work, 5 large dogs, the yard, sports, class work, trying to read and write a little I just forget to check back. Don't want to do it before the question times out because that close the question. I just forget when the question is going to time out and I don't check my e-mail but 1 or 2 times a week.

maybe they forgot, or maybe the question was a made up question. people do that. why? because they're bored and have nothing to do, so they make up a question and never choose best answer.

Because they might not find anyone who gave a best answer.

Don't you hate that? It's very aggravating.
