If the following is what I Believe, What am I????

I Believe in

Natural Law - a higher order of things. Good and evil, justice and injustice, rights and responsibilities - these are not subjective.

Established Institutions - I believe passionately that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are works of profound genius, and that they provide the best system of law and government possible.

The Preference of Liberty over Equality - all societies face a fundamental choice between emphasizing freedom or emphasizing equality.

Suspicion of Power - If government is to exercise power, better in the county than in the state, better in the state than in Washington.

Exceptionalism - some people inevitably have superior abilities, intelligence, and talents, and those people have a fundamental right to use and profit from their natural gifts.

The Individual - Every man, for his individual good and for the good of his society, is responsible for his own development. The choices that govern his life are choices he must make.

Update:

White Rose, please explain what you means by dangerous---

Update 2:

Leah - if you are a Moderate Conservative, which of the following points do you disagree with?

I do know where I stand, this is an excercise, to see if there are people that actually understand what the believe. I could have easily put up the opposite side.

You are a conservative...an unoffensive one, but one that I still disagree with (I don't agree with your "natural order," I don't agree with your liberty over equality--unless enjoyed by everyone, liberty is only priveledge extended).

An advocate of social darwinism - "survival of the fittest" used as an excuse to stomp all over anybody who is smaller and weaker.

Also, unrealistic. Nobody can do everything all by themselves all the time. Everybody needs help from other people sometimes. When I hear people with your attitude, I always hope that your house catches on fire....and everybody else just lets it burn to the ground. Well, you wanted to be "independent", didn't you?

You are a Social Darwinist, similar to attitudes in Victorian England during the Industrial Revolution. (in my opinion).

You might also be a racist, or not, and probably somewhat of an anarchist, depending on how you extrapolate some of these ideas.

Some are okay, pretty good, others are definitely dangerous.

    A fool. Specifically, a right-wing libertarian fool.

I'm guessing you'd probably read Ayn Rand, and would vote for Ron Paul.

What are you? You sound like a smart person! Ok, I say that because I generally agree with you on most of your points. ;-)

And I am a moderate conservative, so you may be one too. But for goodness sakes, think for yourself and don't let others define you.
