  • Why is it, the only people that seem to have a problem with Obama being black, are the pro Obama people?

All the question I see that deal with race seem to come from people that are anti conservative or anti republican. With questions like

" Are conservative upset with Obama because of PWB?"

All the conservative questions I see, mention nothing about race. Are the pro Obama people that insecure, that everything must be about race?

  • If the presidential candidate had to fight for each district?

Not that this could ever be financially implemented, given todays election economics. More as a theoretical idea

  • Why does everybody blame tax cuts for our problems?

Holy Cow! - Maybe republicans do, but conservatives would lower spending first, then cut taxes.

  • How about this for campaign finance reform?

    1. The only entities that can give money are voters. Voters can give as much money as they choose (no tax deduction).

Since Corporations, Pacs, Unions or any other group can not vote, they are not allowed to contribute to candidates or political parties.

    2. The only candidates that you can contribute to are the candidates that are the district where you live. So your own legislator, your senator, the President. If you live in Iowa, you can not give to a candidate in Georgia.

    3. Candidates would be held to truth in advertising laws.

    4. Organizations (corporations, pacs, unions etc.) can not solicit for or against candidates

at least a start to return power to the people...

  • When did this country stop being of, for and by the people?

This government was supposed to ba a government "of the people", "By the people" and "for the people".

Today it seems to be a government that "by the politicians, government business, special interest", for the same and of the same.

The question I have, When did the people decide to abdicate there power and responsibility to these other entities?

  • Where in the constitution does it authorize federal insurance?

I would like to know, where in the founding documents of this country, it states that the federal government is supposed to control business, health care, social security, or any government program.

Besides defending this country from enemies, and defending our rights, where is the rest of this authorization.

  • How many people think that the government is responsible for the current problems in the USA?

I contend that the people are the problem. We as a populace do not hold our Politicians accountable for there actions.(Both sides of the aisle). They make mistakes, but since we do not hold them accountable, they feel they can do what they want. When reelection comes up, we send them back to office.

WE are responsible. And all this started 40+ years ago, who agrees?

  • How can a poor person get a tax cut?

In this country, poor people don't pay taxes. The government has insured that. So to give the poor a tax cut would be an oxymoron.

The only thing that you can do is to GIVE them more money than they already get, through refundable tax credits. In other words take from the have's and give to the have nots (to each according to there need, half the basis for socialism).

So please How can a poor person get a tax cut?

  • When did we have free market Capitalism?

I keep hearing people say that free market capitalism has failed.

I define free market capitalism as capitalism without undo burden from government regulators.

Therefore Minimum wage works against free market.

Farm subsidies are against free market.

Government bailout of the Savings and loan

    Government Bailout of Chrysler

    Government intervention in Microsoft

    Break up of AT&T

  • Who thinks Hillary will torpedo Obama's campaign?

Everybody knows that Hillary wants to be POTUS. IF Obama gets elected, her next real opportunity will be the 2016 election. Could she really wait 8 years to run again? That would make her 68 or 69?

  • Why do people want change?

Since the Constitution was written as such to protect the people from the government, Why do some people on YA, want such a fundamental shift, to put power into the government as a way to control their very lives from cradle to the grave.

i.e wage controls, taxation, health care Social Security welfare Department of education, HUD and most other federal bureaucracies, by their very nature put restrictions on what can and can't be done, or get punished. And they punish you by withholding money.

And to give a direct example. D

Drinking age at 21. whether this was right or wrong (not debated here) the federal government forced all states to raise their drinking age to 21 or risk losing highway money.

Now for clarification, I am a conservative - not a republican, not a democrat, not the religious right. all these groups believe in power in the central government

  • Correct me if I am wrong.?

If the value of the dollar is what is causing oil prices in the US to be so high, then why is every other country also complaining about the price of oil.

If oil is traded in dollars, and I work in euros, When the dollar goes down I can buy more dollars, therefore oil in the European nations should be cheaper in comparison.

    The true problem is this.

The demand in the world has gone up. China is using more, African nations are using more, the US is using more, etc. Therefore demand is up. The supply of oil has remained relatively steady (give or take a couple million barrels a day).

so economics says supply constant - demand increase therefore price increase.

to compensate for this either supply has to increase or demand has to go down.

    am I misguided...

  • If the following is what I Believe, What am I????

    I Believe in

Natural Law - a higher order of things. Good and evil, justice and injustice, rights and responsibilities - these are not subjective.

Established Institutions - I believe passionately that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are works of profound genius, and that they provide the best system of law and government possible.

The Preference of Liberty over Equality - all societies face a fundamental choice between emphasizing freedom or emphasizing equality.

Suspicion of Power - If government is to exercise power, better in the county than in the state, better in the state than in Washington.

Exceptionalism - some people inevitably have superior abilities, intelligence, and talents, and those people have a fundamental right to use and profit from their natural gifts.

The Individual - Every man, for his individual good and for the good of his society, is responsible for his own development. The choices that govern his life are choices he must make.

  • Would somebody please explain what was so great about President Bill Clinton???

He became president when the economy was on an upswing, because of policies that were already in place.

He was president during the largest tax increase in history.

His military policy severely hurt our capabilities.

He treated terrorism as a law and order problem, instead of a national security problem.

He and his democrat allies are responsible for the intelligence problems in this country.

He left this office on an econmic downturn.

I lived through Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 1 , Clinton, and Bush 2. and in my opinion Reagan was the best out of the bunch.
