Disappearing F, G, H drives?
I have an HP running Vista Ultimate and find that my F,G, H (for compact flash, SD cards, etc) drives keep disappearing on me (i.e. double click on My Comp and only C:, D & E drives are visible). When I want to view images from my CF card, I have to re-start the computer to be able to see the drive. If I just put the card in, nothing happens. Is there another way to view them without having to re-start the computer? (I find it a real nuisance as I usually have 10 - 20 things minimised). Any ideas why this happens?
Thanks guys!
Thanks DaHutch - doesn't work on Vista.

hmm, I don't have a Dell and I'm still running WinXP not Vista, but I've encountered something like this. I go to put in a flash drive, or mem card, double click on MyComputer, and the drive/mem card I've just put it does not show.
What I do is step up(double click) one level to the Desktop (the address bar will show this), then back(double click) to MyComputer. This seems to reset the index and my drives/mem cards register.
hope this helps.

Well im no computer programer but the best bet is to reinstall the drives on your computer but i think you need the drive disk.

Welcome to drive conflicting. This happens at my workplace because our drive G is a mapped drive to one of our servers. Is this the same situation for you? If so, sorry there's no way around it unless your IT crew will chance the drive name just for you (not likely).
