Second doctor's visit at 22 weeks. Please help w?
As luck would have it, I was leaving my last job when I found out I was pregnant. I ended up taking advantage of my insurance and went to an 8th week visit and a 10th week ultrasound. Since I wasn't in any high risk categories, I then waited for insurance with my new employer. I made an appointment with an ob gyn and as you ladies know, it's never an immediate thing. So I have two more weeks to go until I get to my 2nd real appointment, at which point I'll be 22 weeks.
Will the doctor likely back track and do any testing that might have been required in the past months, and can I expect an ultrasound as customary with 5 month appointments? Is this something I have to request or will it be implied.
Thanks for your help!

If they don't mention the ultrasound, you can mention it. But they'll likely mention it, as the 20 week ultrasound is the one that most people are interested in to determine gender.

I am pretty sure that they will still do the ultrasound for you and I dont know what test they do through there I didnt have none done at the time since I didnt get the amnio and the blood test that can tell if something is wrong, not sure of the name of it thought but I am 23 weeks and next tuesday (234 weeks) I go to get the glucose test done so I dont think you have anything to worry about..Good luck

The dr will probably order new bloodwork and possible testing for gestational diabetes, etc... Plus ultrasound.
You have the right to waive any testing that you're not comfortable with. I never took the sugar test because I knew I wasn't diabetic and wasn't having any symptoms. I asked if I could waive the test until I had symptoms - both my Dr and CNM thought that was fine.
I am sure they will go over diet again, prenatal vitamins, ask how you've been feeling, etc... They will also look up whatever tests you had done at your 1st appt.
Best Wishes!

I saw my ob early in my pregnancy .You will most likely need to get blood tests done. You may need to make another appointment to get an ultrasound, but that depends if your ob does it or if they send you to someone else.
After the blood tests and ultrasound , you just need to make your normal monthly visits. Once you reach week 28 they will do a blood glucose test to make sure you don't have gestational diabetes.
Good luck

well im 11 weeks pregnant and so far ive taken a bunch of blood work. you might have to take you 1 hr glucouse challenge to see if you have diabetes of some sort and another sonogram to find out the sex of the baby. any other blood work would have to do with your age...if your 35 or older but other than that you should be fine. they like to check up on the heart and make sure everything is cool...im sure youre fine

Talk to you Dr. about it. Your insurance usually decides the entire way what kind of care you get. Pregnant or just sick.
