No, not necessarily. Do you have racist thoughts that swayed you to not vote Obama?

Absolutely it does!! Because he is black!!

Obama is relying on his race to get elected, he sure as hell has no substance. So race is what people are going to vote for or against. Everything else he says is Bullshiite.

STUARTZOO- that is an excellent point that you make about the bar. If you are in a bar one time, ONLY ONE TIME and the people you are around make racist comments and you just sit there and don't deny them, or defend the victim, then you are a RACIST!!!!! I AGREE!!!!!!

So......I guess sitting in a church for twenty years, TWENTY YEARS!!!!! and listening to someone spew racist, anti-semitic, hatred and first claiming that you never heard it, and then claiming that you heard it but refuse to denounce the individual that said it, and then when you realize you are stuck, decide to denounce the individual, I guess that doesn't make you RACIST?

The difference between your scenario and mine is that the bar is a one time thing, the church was twenty years. And the number one difference is that OBAMA is BLACK!!!!

    HE IS A RACIST!!!!!!!

No. If you laugh at racist jokes, repeat them, or don't put a stop to the people around you telling them, then maybe.

You can say "I'm not racist" all day long, but when your in the bar with your buds and someone makes a racist comment, how do you react?

Racism is ingrained in the fabric of this country unfortunately and it is something you must make a concerted effort to combat.

It is not enough to simply declare "I'm not racist."

It takes work and it takes time.

    We CAN break the cycle.

Of course not. Just like, not voting for Clinton doesn't make you a sexist or not voting for McCain doesn't make you ageist (sorry for the double negatives).

However, given the criticisms I hear about Obama on this site, it appears like a lot of people who aren't voting for him because of racial prejudice or xenophobia.

You may have principled reasons for voting for McCain or Clinton. Who knows? You also may be a raving lunatic like many of the anti-Obama people who post here.

Only if you don't vote for him based on race.

If you don't vote for Obama it means you actually research your candidates.

Depends on why. Racism isn't based on actions, but rather intent.
