The Rapture?

Do you think that there are so few "real" christians out there that when the rapture occurs people on earth will not recognize it as the rapture? It will be a few disappearences here and there?

Update:

True, I didn't think about babies and children being gone too.

There are (and I say utter this thought with an emotion close to depression) a HUGE number of real Christians. What is fairly called into question is whether a Christian "BEHAVES" consistently in real fashion-- which makes people question whether the person truly IS one.

However it is not what one DOES that defines a Christian. Likewise, a human is not defined by what he DOES but by what he is BORN.

A "real" Christian is defined by a covenant relationship with God which is established ONLY on faith in Jesus Christ. Obedience and holiness is surely MEANT to follow, yes. But moral failure does not take away from what a person is BORN as.

My daughter might choose to be disobedient, even TERRIBLY disobedient, however that does not take her out of relationship AT ALL with myself. I'm still her father and she's still my daughter. Our "fellowship" suffers but nothing 'undoes' our RELATIONSHIP.

All that to say-- disobedient sons of God go to heaven alongside the obedient since Christian salvation (according to the original Bible standard) is -not- based on our ability but that of the Savior's. IF the Lamb of God took away the sins of the world, then, how should sin (disobedience) disqualify one who truly got born again?

ALL born-again Christians are REAL Christians by the standard of a confession (made from the heart) of faith in Jesus Christ. Real Christians are born again, and that confession of faith is how they GET born again.

If from there- they act hypocritical by being worldly- that doesn't change what they were born. So....

LOTS will go in the rapture. It WILL be TOTALLY noticed. It will likely precipitate or aggrivate a global financial crisis where the massive ensuing default on loans, mortgages, and credit card debt will mostly likely bring an announced end to the use of CASH and those that remain on earth will then be dealing with all that the book of Revelation predicts.

A few months back, I ran across a survey that asked people if they were a Christian.

    Over 85% said yes.

Then they started to add conditions.

Do you go to church at least once a week?

Do you read your Bible at least once a week?

    etc...

I do not remember what the last conditions were, but with each quiestion the percentage go smaller, until only .7% said yes.

That is a small number, but still there are over 300 million people in the US, that means that at least 2.1 million people that would be taken.

I think what may make many people question if the rapture has happened is that there are still so many so-called Christians around saying that it could not have been the rapture because they are still here.

Well, if you look at what the Bible says about the rapture - it says that it will be as the days of Noah were. How many people got on the Ark??? Only Noah and his family, which amounted to 8......not very many, huh?

Really makes a person wonder about what things will be like when Jesus does come snatch us out of here.

    I liked your question.

No, I think there are plenty out there. But there will be some people that are so far from God or any Godly people that they won't know until they hear about all the missing people on the news. Keep in mind that all babies and children will be gone. I know I will be outta here.

    No.

    Millions will be caught away.

However the problems the world finds itself in may be so extreme it may be quickly forgotten.

The government of Antichrist may also suppress the truth of the matter.

"According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words."

    I Thessalonians 4:15-18

"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. for it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

The rapture will happen in a blink of an eye. Only God knows the true heat of His believers.
