Is it fair for any group to claim persecution if they persecute other groups?

I know this question sounds loaded but having seen the same people on here claiming persecution and then turning around and criticising other groups groundlessly, I need to ask this question.

It does not SOUND fair, it sounds a bit one-way trafffic, but...

if a professional thief finds his house broken into and robbed. isn't he entitled to report it?

or you can't cook to save your life means you can't complain if a restaurant meal is awful?

these peolpe are not saying persecution is wrong, always and no matter who it happens to. They are complaining persecution hurts when it happens to them. This is most likely true. They just either can't see someone else's point of view to realise it hurts THEM, too, OR they don't see their own actions as being persecution.

You yourself said they "criticising other groups"...this might not be persecution, just criticism. perhaps the persecution they complain of was a lot more serious?

Criticism is not, and never can be, persecution. So no problem of fairness or hypocrisy there.

Consider carefully claims of persecution however and you'll find that every Christian claim of persecution, in the western world at least, is a complaint that they cannot force their beliefs or preferences on others, rather than that they are being imposed upon themselves. It's a major difference.

Christians claim persecution because they cannot force all kids to pray regardless of their faith or lack of it. Non-Christians claim persecution when they are forced to pray to a Christian god.

    See the difference?

You know the old saying? If you live in a glass house don't throw stones? No it's not fair or right. Persecution and Prejudice go hand in hand. People should take a good close look at themselves before making judgments about other people or groups.

    Which group?

And alot of times, what is called "reverse persecution" is simply the group being persecuted against finally standing up for themselves.

definitely the pot calling the kettle black. Alot of people in the world have become 'victims'. People do think differently everywhere in the world, but its wrong to claim you are being persecuted when you are doing the same thing to someone else, you'd think they wouldn't knowing how it feels

That is the modus operendi of the Christian majority. Claim persecution in order to persecute and impose their will on the minority.

I personally enjoy it when they start persecuting each other ie, "Catholics aren't Christians, JW's aren't Christians" etc...

Unjust, but it's human nature. People in a position of power are inclined to whine about how hard done by they are.

You have to fix your own problems before try to help anyone else with theirs. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

It is certainly not fair, but that's how it is.Life is not fair. Death is. If fairness is your cup of tea, lace it with cyanide.
