Can you suggest a manga series for an 8yo boy (English only)?

We love to buy Manga at our local Asian/Japanese store. They read back to front, right to left... they're great! I love Fruits Basket myself. My son has read the entire Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z series in English and now, we are looking for another series for him... We picked up the first issue of Dragon Drive today and he likes it. We also got Naruto #1 and he said it's probably not good for him because it has nudity. LOL! (He's going through a girls have cooties phase right now and though the nudity in Naruto is nearly non-existent, the "ninja centerfold" parts bugged him.)

So... can anyone recommend a manga series that my 8yo son might like? (light cartoon/ninja violence is okay (he does taekwondo so he knows what's appropriate and what's not), no nudity or suggestive sexual situations)

Thanks!

Update:

Michael N. - We looked at the description on FullMetal Alchemist and it didn't look like it was appropriate for an 8yo... thanks for the answer, tho!

Update 2:

xTamer: Thank you for the list of titles! I'll check them out online. Unfortunately, the bookstore we go to has all of the manga books sealed in clear plastic and have balked at unwrapping them so we can read through them. Occasionally, they do have something unwrapped and hanging hear the shelves. So... I'll have to find pages online so I can check them out. At least we have Dragon Drive for him thus far... that should get us through the next month or so. BUt I DO like some of the titles you posted! Thanks!!!

Do you think he'll like sports-related manga? I'll suggest some I think might be good for him. =]]

    Sports:

-Eyeshield 21 (Kobayakawa Sena is a freshman in highschool. Despite his previous decisions to change his life, he finds himself in the exactly same place he was in during elementary school and junior high: a push over and an errand boy. However, this changes when Hiruma, the most feared person in his school and president of the American Football Club, notices Sena and forces him to join the Football Team. Now Sena will become Eyeshield 21, a mysterious running back with lighting fast speed)

-Whistle! (Everybody has a dream, and for Sho Kazamatsuri, that dream is simple: he wants to be the best soccer player he can possibly be. He's the spirited leader of the Josui Junior High team and everyone looks up to him. In turn, he tries to keep the team together at any cost!)

-Prince of Tennis (Echizen Ryoma just joined the Seishun Gakuen Middle School tennis team, which is known for being one of the most competitive teams in Japan. Ryoma has proven his skills by winning four straight American junior tournament titles. With his skills, Ryoma challenges a rule of Seishun Gakuen that freshmen don't represent the team to play in tournaments until summer.)

-Hikaru no Go (After stumbling across a haunted Go board, irresponsible Hikaru Shindo discovers that the spirit of a master player has taken up residence in his consciousness. In his pursuit of the "Divine Move," Fujiwara-no-Sai awakens in Hikaru an untapped interest and genius for the game, and soon the schoolboy is chasing his own dream--defeating the famed Go prodigy Akira Toya!)

    Shounen:

-Kingdom Hearts (Sora is a young energetic boy looking forward to exploring the world with his friends, Riku and Kairi. The threesome is working hard on completing a raft that will allow them to leave their island but one day a mysterious force causes Sora to gain a special weapon known as the Keyblade.)

-Shaman King (A shaman is some one who connects this world and the spirit world. In Shaman King, shamans team up with ghosts and spirits to achieve their goals. The greatest dreams of a shaman is to become the Shaman King, who is able to contact the Great Spirit (the spirit that every soul will eventually go back to) in order to be the savior of the world. That is Yoh Asakura's goal in life)

-Case Closed / Detective Conan (When ace high school detective Kudou Shinichi is fed a mysterious substance by a pair of nefarious men in black--poof! He is physically tranformed into a first grader. Until he can find a cure for his miniature malady, he takes on the pseudonym Conan Edogawa and continues to solve all the cases that come his way.)

-Hunter x Hunter (Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other men. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters.)

I've read most of them and they don't have any teen rated elements I can remember. Try flipping through the books first just to make sure.

Good luck finding something your son likes! =]

Hmmmm I would recommend Shaman King and maybe Beet the Vandel Buster. Shaman King is the absolute most amazing manga in the world (that is directed toward a younger audience) and Beet might be ok. I hope that helps! :)
