Im just curious... I notice that sometimes when I feel really sad or something, I feel sick. Does this happen to other people?

"...depression can cause physical symptoms, too.
In fact, many people with depression feel pain or other physical symptoms. These include:
Headaches . These are fairly common in people with depression. If you already had migraine headaches, they may become worse if you're depressed.
Back pain . If you already suffer with back pain, it may get worse if you become depressed.
Muscle aches and joint pain. Depression can make any kind of chronic pain worse.
Chest pain . Obviously, it's very important to get chest pain checked out by an expert right away. It can be a sign of serious heart problems. But chest pain is also associated with depression.
Digestive problems. You might feel queasy or nauseous. You might have diarrhea or become chronically constipated.
Exhaustion and fatigue. No matter how much you sleep, you may still feel tired or worn out. Getting out of the bed in the morning may seem very hard, even impossible.
Sleeping problems. Many people with depression can't sleep well anymore. They wake up too early or can't fall asleep when they go to bed. Others sleep much more than normal.
Change in appetite or weight. Some people with depression lose their appetite and lose weight. Others find they crave certain foods -- like carbohydrates -- and weigh more.
Dizziness or lightheadedness.
Many depressed people never get help, because they don't know that their physical symptoms might be caused by depression. A lot of doctors miss the symptoms, too.
These physical symptoms aren't "all in your head." Depression can cause real changes in your body. For instance, it can slow down your digestion, which can result in stomach problems.
Depression seems to be related to an imbalance of certain chemicals in your brain. Some of these same chemicals play an important role in how you feel pain. So many experts think that depression can make you feel pain differently than other people.
Treating Physical Symptoms
In some cases, treating your depression -- with therapy or medicine or both -- will resolve your physical symptoms.
But make sure to tell your health care provider about any physical symptoms. Don't assume they'll go away on their own. They may need additional treatment. For instance, your doctor may suggest an antianxiety medicine if you have insomnia. Those drugs help you relax and may allow you to sleep better.
Since pain and depression go together, sometimes easing your pain may help with your depression. Some antidepressants, such as Cymbalta and Effexor, may help with chronic pain, too.
Other treatments can also help with painful symptoms. Certain types of focused therapy -- like cognitive behavioral --can teach you ways to cope better with the pain."

Well, I think it leans more towards the semi-rape issue: you enjoyed sex before, so if you weren't feeling guilty then, it seems unlikely that it would just start being an issue, now... when you are having to have sex when you don't want to. That seems like a connection to your previous experience before. That needs to be dealt with. And I think with an 8, you might as well round up and make it a 10: if you minimize the harm it can do to you, you may just put off getting help: there can be a lot of (unjustified) shame as a victim. So maybe you are minimizing it a bit. And self-disgust is a tendency of a rape victim, as they feel dirtied: hard to find the right word. I hope if that resonates with you at all, that you get some counselling and group support. Even if it wasn't a full rape, it was still a trauma and those don't go away on their own. In the meantime, be honest with your partner. If they can't hold it while you deal, or at least reduce it to how you like it, it's not that great of a relationship.

Yep, it sure does. I have certainly felt this way when I've been really bummed or had some really traumatic thing happen to me that depresses me beyond despair. It's just no fun to feel so emotionally sick that it effects you physically. Time heals. Hang in there.

Yes.. Emotions cause chemical changes within the brain that affect how the body "feels".
It also works in reverse as well. If you are feeling sick and think positive your body recovers as well. It is all connected to your physical state of mind. They go hand in hand. I dont take any medicines or remedies. If I dont feel well, I find something I like doing that makes me positive and start feeling better until it goes away.

Yes it can. Sometime when I am feeling depressed my body will ache. I will feel weighed down. Sometimes I can get a headache. I just feel like crap when I feel really sad. I have never wanted to take medication for it . What seems to work for me is telling someone I am feeling depressed and my friends will find a way to snap me out of it.

Our physical body is deeply connected to our emotions, depression, stress, anger can cause all kinds of physical problems, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, hair loss, high blood pressure, insomnia and in prolonged cases, heart attacks and strokes. After I calm down from being extremely angry I'm always nauseous.

yes because the stress on your mind or the depression makes you spend too much energy, specially stress that makes your body to stay alert all time so that over loads all your body making you body defenses go weak or low, and also your own mind can tell your body to feel sick, your body just tells what your mind is going trough
