of course since the question literally is about the ability to do so. but on the individual level, it depends on the willingness of the people involved. and for me, I have been able to be able to find a common background to some extent with many of the people I have met so far but they were ready for this mutual relation. hopefully I will be able to do so regardless of others experience. I think the question is an invitation to do so and a remainder of something important more than simply a normal question seeking information if I got it right. regards.

I guess it would depend on what you mean.

There are already "interfaith" organizations for different protestant denominations, protestant and catholics, Christians of any sort and Jews. There are even organizations for "people of the book" that would include all the above and Muslims based on the idea that they all worship the God of Abraham.

However, on the flip side you have Protestants that will tell you Catholics follow the Anti-Christ (the Pope), that Mormons aren't really Christians etc... You even have fundamentalists that believe that every one not of their denomination has it "wrong" and will go to hell because of it. Similarly you have Conservative vs Orthodox Jews (not to mentions things like Kabalists and Hassidim). You also have the large division between Sunni and Shia Muslims that enters into a lot of the middle east politics especially in places like Lebanon and Iraq.

    Not really!

Try reading a small sample of Christian postings on here!!!

Intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted!! Eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more - but far worse whilst they demand freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!!

Correspond those terrible human emotions with Buddhism:

BUDDHISM – Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment.!!

    Enough said?!!!!

not as long as there are exclusive monotheists. the rest of us [and some tolerant christians and muslims] are getting along just fine.

edit: saywhat, your response epitomizes 'interfaith' efforts, and underscores my point. even among some atheists, there's no recognition of anything other than the one abrahamic religion and its three sects.

They can if they do not enforce their beliefs and regard themselves superior over others. people need to give people a chance and neglect stereotypical views!

  • You can use you illusion let it take you where it may. We live and learn and then sometimes it's best to walk away. Me I'm just here hangin' on cos it's my only place to stay at least for now anyway. I've worked too hard for my illusions just to throw them all away!

I know it looks like I'm insane...But take a closer look I'm not to blame.... Cos if FAITH is blind I guess I'll buy myself a cane!
