Was Shinui antisemitism?

Just heard the news Tommy Lapid passed away. RIP, Mr. Lapid. So here is the question about Shinui. Jewish is defined by the religion, Judaism, which is why messianic Jews are not real Jews. Since Shinui went all the way against the religion, didn't that make it against the Jewish people as well? If so, wasn't that antisemitism?

Update:

I know Shinui people are Jews, and love other Jews. But just curious how to reconcile t this contradiction here.

Who is Jewish has never been based entirely on keeping Judaism. There are many, many atheist Jews eating pig who are just as Jewish as an orthodox Jew in a black hat.

Israel is about 70 % secular Jews. Sometimes, during week coalition governements, minorities get disproportionate represntation in government. For this reason, Shinui set out against them.

Although it is true that Jews who decide on another religion are generally not considered Jews, that's not really relevant here.

Shinui's anti-religious stance was certainly not antisemitism, just a reaction to a political situation and was certainly not against the Jews. I'd probably argue it wasn't even against Judaism. It was mainly to safeguard the division between "church" and state.

Messianics were NEVER Jewish to start with - only 1% of them were born to Jewish mothers or converts to Judaism. The other 99% were never Jewish in the first place.

SHINUI are not anti semitic - what on earth gave you that idea? They are a liberal party that support the fact that Israel is a SECULAR DEMOCRACY. Everyone has equal rights to work, worship and live as they please.

    A person is Jewish if:

    - they convert to Judaism

    or

    - they are born to a Jewish mother

Plenty of Israelis are NOT Jewish. Why do you think over a MILLION of Israeli ARAB citizens CHOOSE to stay in Israel - rather than leaving for any one of the 57 mostly Arab countries on the planet?

Because they are treated more fairly in Israel - that's why.
