  • What are the major deficiencies of the Apple Mac computer?

I am thinking about getting a Mac. Price and performance are not concerns to me. However i know over the years, Mac users are often behind PC users in getting the latest "hip" software. For example, when Napster first came out, it had only PC version and it took them at least half a year to offer a Mac version. When ABC first started offering free viewing of its shows at its web site, again it was only available to PC users. And I am pretty sure there are all sorts of PC only games out there.

So I am just wondering currently if there are any major or new, upcoming, breakout software, programs that are not available to Mac? Thanks.

  • If the Iranian protesters get what they want, what will happen in MN then?

Should Senator Coleman's supporters stage a general strike, shutting down the state and forcing a new election? If the GOP supporters are so concerned about election fraud in Iran, shouldn't they be even more concerned about "fraud" at home and do something about it? Haven't they been talking about ACORN for god knows how long?

  • Do I need a car at Cancun area?

I don't mean the city of Cancun, but the surrounding area, Mayan Riviera. I am not really interested in clubs. I mainly want to see the Maya ruins and maybe jungles. So I am thinking about going to PLAYA DEL CARMEN, AKUMAL, TULUM etc. If so, do I need a car for traveling around. How far apart are these cities? If you don't have one, how easy is it to move around these cities? Thanks.

  • Is it time to pass a constitutional amendment to change the senate to the house of Lords?

And just like UK, all the members should be appointed instead of be elected. They can be from blue blood families only . And we will start with NY with Her Royal Highness, Princess Caroline Kennedy.

  • What is this building at Michigan Ave near 15th street in Detroit?

It's just a few blocks away from the old Tiger stadium. It is a big, tall building, some sort of classic european style. Look like a big mansion or temple. But is abandoned now. Someone said it used to be the headquarter of some big company.

  • Will Western Democracy be in danger if the $700B bailout fails ?

and we need the Chinese and the Arabians to save us. If that happens, do you think western democracy will still carry any weight in the eyes of the developing countries? Will they then follow the so called Chinese model whatever that means?

  • From ur personal experience, how is the economy doing right now?

This is not a place for u to bash ur political opponents or quote government stats. Keep that to yourself. I want opinions based on ur personal daily life. e.g. no one thinks we are as bad as the 70s or early 80s. I don't know about the 91 recession. But right now the economy doesn't feel as bad as 2001 recession. At that time, every a few months, there was tense talk about lay off in my company. And right now, we had some cost cut, but no rumors about layoff at all. Of course, i don't know if it matters I work in a big multinational tech company. And in '01, the apartment market in my city was horrible. They were giving out 1 or even 2 months free rent to attract tenants. And right now, my rent is still going up in big way. I know the gas and food price are up a lot. But at restaurants, i can't say there are less patrons and the malls are still crowded on weekends. Again, i don't know if my city, Austin, makes a difference here.

  • Is this Obama fever similar to the Clinton campaing in 92?

At that time, after 12 years of GOP rules, two exhausted and aged presidents and a ongoing recession, people were really tired of Bush. So when 2 fresh faced young politicians from the South, Clinton and Gore, appeared, people were excited and they won in a landslide. I didn't pay much attention at that time. So I don't know if my description is correct. But from what I heard, it sounds like that. So I am just wondering for those people old enough, is this Deja Vu all over?

  • Was Shinui antisemitism?

Just heard the news Tommy Lapid passed away. RIP, Mr. Lapid. So here is the question about Shinui. Jewish is defined by the religion, Judaism, which is why messianic Jews are not real Jews. Since Shinui went all the way against the religion, didn't that make it against the Jewish people as well? If so, wasn't that antisemitism?

  • Messianic Jews are Jews after all, so said Israeli government?

I read all the answers regarding Messianic Jews here. It seems pretty clear all Jews agree Messianic Jews are Christians. But now comes this big exception. In the annual Bible contest on the Independence Day, there will be a finalist from Messianic Jews. Some rabbis tried to disqualify her because she's not Jewish. But the Israeli government said no. She IS a Jew. So what do u make of that?

  • What do u think Jeb Bush as VP?

I know this is NOT going to happen!!! No way we want another Bush right now. But just for fun, it does sound intriguing, don't u think so?

    1. Conservatives think Jeb is even more reliable than W, so his candidacy can immediately alleviate their worries about John McCain.

    2. His wife is Hispanic and he is a catholic, along with McCain's stance on immigration, they can do at least as well as W did, and probably even beat the Dem. among Latino voters.

    3. He's popular at FL, a battle ground state. although his failure to deliver it in '00 when he was the governor, was shocking.

    Any other pros?
