What will happen to Joe Lieberman after the election?
If as expected, the Dem increases its majority in the senate and no longer needs Lieberman's support any more?

It probably depends on how close the Democrats get to 60 seats (the "real" number needed to pass legislation in the Senate)
Lieberman's active campaigning for McCain has probably cost him the chairmanship of any committee regardless of the number of seats.
If the Democrats get to 60, they may decide to change his committee assignments as well. If they don't get to 60, they might let him keep his current committee assignments.
The Senate leadership could understand his running as an Independent after losing the primary and consider him to still be a Democrat. While his positions are closer to the Democratic Party than the Republican Party, his misguided view of foreign affairs has led Senator Lieberman to essentially cross the aisle. You can't do that and still keep all the perks that come from being a member of the majority party.

He could lose decisively, i think of he could have difficulty getting greater advantageous than a million % of the voters. He nevertheless helps the Iraq conflict even after the gross mismanagement of the conflict. He helps going into Iran. This united states does not choose Senator Joe Lieberman. I desire he could in simple terms retire or some thing. he's not area of the answer, he's a factor of the venture

Depends on who's elected President. With McCain, he gets a cabinet post, with Obama, he'll probably leave the Senate at the end of his term in 2012. And, you know, write books, go on the lecture circuit, get a consulting job on K Street, something like that, he can be a political analyst for one of the cable networks.

Then mlost likely they will punish him and strip him of his committee and chairmaship position and they may ostracize him within the party. In the next few years, it would not surprise me if Lieberman switches to the Republican party.

Joe Lieberman should be ashamed of his behavior for quite some time. Walk away from politics and stay away from K street, please.

He will be sulking again because GWB told McCain he does not want him on the ticket, hopefully he loses his next run for the U S Senate too.

I'll pay the republicans $1.00 to take this "independent" to take him off our hands
