You can get them at any age. It's rarely to do with personal cleanliness - some soaps and moisturisers can block them even more because the oil clogs the pores. Unless they're all over her face, I wouldn't worry.
I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the black stuff you see in a blackhead isn't dirt - it's just a natural oil called sebum which darkens on contact with air.
So. There you go.

nothing weird about that at all. It all has to do with skin type and how it is cared for. Your 8 year old daughter might just have oily skin which in turn will contrubute to getting pimples if it is not cared for properly. I have a nine year old daughter who has not had to experience a pimple yet, and a 14 year old who has been getting pimples since she was seven years old. Now that she is in her teenage years, she is trying to maintain a healthy skin by applying the right Avon products every day to eleviate the pimple problem. Don't freak just because your child has a pimple, she will think there is something despirately wrong with her. A pimple is nothing to be afraid of.

I started getting pimples in the 5th grade....not uncommon. Time to teach her how to wash her face daily or twice daily. Maybe use a gentle astringent if they continue to show up because of hormones.

Just have her wash her face in the morning and before bed. Its getting hot out and sweat/dirt/debri will clog pores.

Her pores were probably clogged. She needs to wash her face every day (maybe twice a day) with warm water (not hot) and a very mild cleanser.

It can happen at any age. It's just a blocked pore. If she gets many more, you may want to see a dermatologist.

She got it probably because she needs to wash her face better to get the dirt off..

you do know that she could be in the very earliest stages of puberty....
not totally unheard of for an 8yo
and it is true boys and girls are hitting puberty earlier and earlier!
