Are you a theist who complains about atheists being in R&S?
Do you wish Yahoo would create an "Atheists" section?
If so, I invite you to visit the "Gender & Women's Studies" section, which you will find is dominated by bitter, women-hating male trolls, whose misogyny and vitriol are matched only by their thin skins and incompetence in written English.
Do you think something similar would happen in an Atheist's section?
I do.

I asked that once, early on. What I expected to find here was religious debate about difficult passages or practices - not so much debate on whether or not God exists. So, that was a bit of a disappointment early on. And I guess I'd still like to have that level of discussion, which isn't really possible in this forum. With all the trolling, impersonation, and such it's hard to find pertinent questions. Or serious questions of faith.
Other non-Christian theists have expressed the same concerns.
I think I've accepted that it's just not possible in this type forum. And I agree that the more you try to keep one faction out, the more the fanatics will torment you. Decent people in either section would be targeted.
So, I guess we're stuck with each other... ;o)
Which is fine. I'm learning to love you all. And though I'm having a different experience that what I expected, I am still learning here, and I value that.

I see no offense to having Atheist, Muslims, Buddhist, Agnostics, or any other religious belief on R&S, since this is the right place for all of us to, possibility, learn that which we do not know. Especially, since all are religions and all have the right to learn about other religions.
Now, if only some of the people would , but learn that no question, if pharsed properly and using proper language, regardless of mispelling and grammatical errors, is improper. Yes to some it may appear stupid or silly, but some do not have the vernaticular range of others.
So, may we learn?

I don't think segregation is the answer. I think we do pretty good here with the thumbs up or down for comments. If there was an athiests section, I think it would be overrun by people who think it's ok to spam bible quotes, assuming that those will change someone's mind. I am a Christian, and I think that's annoying.

No, there are many Atheists I've grown quite fond of.
I like things the way they are. No point in segregating...
I do agree that if a separate category was made just for Atheism then yes, attack of the trolls would commence. The same if a separate category was made for Christianity, Buddhism, etc.
For those of us who don't play the "offensive" games we just need to keep weeding out the immature kids from the real people who have actual points of value to add to all discussions.
Peace. :)

LMAO I can't help but laugh at all the atheist's answers saying Christians would just flood their sight trying to get them to accept God. What do you think atheist are doing in the R&S section right now? trying to get us to believe God doesn't exist, it is more you causing trouble than us because you direct your nasty questions and inuendoes directly to christians. If you leave us alone, guaranteed we would not give you a second thought.

If they were to make an atheists section, I am absolutely sure that at least SOME of the religious folk would go right over there and try and get them to "see the truth" and "find God within themselves".

the persons you listed did no longer kill interior the call of atheism, in assessment to religious terrorists. Communism is almost thoroughly incompatable with faith. there is not any such element as basic Atheism, because of the fact there is not any scripture for us to take actually. even in spite of the undeniable fact that, I do accept as true with you. that is not any longer unavoidably faith that determines despite if someone is close-minded or no longer. there are lots of illiberal atheists, merely as there are tolerant, open-minded theists.

If Y/A did create an atheist section how long do you think it would be before it was full of Christians condemning them? Trying to make them see their evil ways are wrong and they need Jesus to forgive them?

I think it would just further widen the divide between the camps.
I don't like segregation and isolation. Not much fun, ya know! :)))

I would leave you all alone, but most atheists questions are directed to Christians.
