Hey New Yorker , Me too. Its hard to find all that. That is why we go and visit 2 xs a year and we gorge on pizza, pizza, pizza and take bagels back with us. We know how you feel. Take them back when you visit and freeze them.

Simple, my friend. Pizza and Bagels from the NY metro area have one ingredient that cannot be replicated anywhere else - Water. The water that goes into pizza dough or bagel dough comes from the same place for all metro New Yorkers - The New York City Watershed, supplying NY with ~ 1.4 billion gallons of water per day.

Read the following article, re NY water and bagels.

So, sorry, but if you want the real deal, you'll have to come back up to NY for your pizza and bagels.

I feel your pain!!! Moved to Southern California from NY and I'm in the same boat. Can't find a decent pizza anywhere!! I think it's because of the water... and the serious lack of Italians out here!!!!!!!!!

Your taste buds are use to eating the food in New York in time you will learn to like the food in the deep South. But in the mean time might I suggest a vacation back to NY...

because the south is all about the fried chicken and grits..i just moved from NC to arizona, and i really miss the friend chicken...different parts of the country have different tastes in food. You are probably just going to have to learn how to make what you like yourself.

Good luck! I have my favorite calzones fed exed from RI to CA! Try calling your favorite places and see if they will ship to you.

Dawn...Petrillos in San Gabriel makes a great sicillian pizza, we drive almost an hour for it.

La Rizza's in Long Beach makes a good thin crust.

    I am a RI transplant.

i lived in atlanta, ga and there are chinese restraunts on every single corner, can't tell you about pizza though we ordered domino's and pizza hut, etc. go to the store and get a premade pizza crust or make your own and make your own sauce and toppings the way you like it done. It's cheaper and you get exactly what and how much you want on it. What's wrong with Lender's Bagels or Sara Lee.

have family /friends ship them to you from ny.
