AL: Josh Hamilton in a landslide to this point, on pace to win the Triple Crown.

NL: Really a toss up between Utley, Berkman, and Chipper. Chipper has edge in AVG, while Utley takes the cake in RBI and HR, and Berkman leads in runs and SB. Unfortunate that MVP's generally don't go to players on bad teams because special consideration could be given to Nate McLouth from the Pirates, really putting together a solid season. I give the nod to Utley.

WOW!!! I am very impressed with the Yahoo Baseball fans!!!

I was ready to read about a Boston or NY bias and even though my favorite is a feel good story, its' not like the Rangers get a ton of coverage.

My pick in the AL is Josh Hamilton. It is all up to how he handles the success and if he stays consistant and keeps this pace for the full season. If he does, he could very well the AL MVP Hands down and for a Texas Ranger to even be considered on that level is nothing short of Amazing.

Over the NL...honestly, I have to rule my opinion out...I have not watched any NL ball this year and thus would only provide a popularity pick (Berkman)...I will start to watch a few games over the next few months and see who starts to shine as an inspirational NL MVP Candidate.

By the way, for the poster who said the Rangers are out of it...it's a long season and this Ranger fan has got to believe that anything is possible.

By the way, Ranger Rookie David Murphy could be a runaway AL Rookie of the Year!!!

If the Rangers can get some Pitching fortunes in the next year or so, they could finally have a REAL team who contends for a title!!!

  • I think it's pretty clear in the American League that it's Josh Hamilton

In the National League it's a little tougher to choose because there are multiple players having a lights out year. Lance Berkman, Chipper Jones and Chase Utley being 3 of them. In the end I'll say Utley, he's a great all around, 5 tool player.

As an Astros fan and its tempting to go for Lance Berkman but obviously its Utley who is leading the league in HRs (21), 2nd in RBI(53). deserves to win and Hamilton is leading the league in HRs (17), RBIs (67), and is 2nd in BA (.329) is a no-brainer.

Note: The NL is the toughest to choose, but I might go with Chipper if he actually makes a .400 BA season but GUYS REMEMBER the MVP award isn't just about stats though! Its how valuable they are to their team! Thats why it's called the Most Valuable Player Award not the Best Player or whatever.

Did I mention if we take those two players out of their respected teams, they be doing A LOT worse. (Especially the Rangers)

interior the american League: Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis ought to chop up votes making it available for Carlos Quentin or Josh Hamilton to win the MVP. i visit declare Carlos Quentin surprising now, yet dont be shocked if Hamilton is the eventual MVP. For CY youthful, it would be complicated to vote against Cliff Lee. optimal the league in wins and era many times is a lock. yet, he's on a dropping team and each each and every now and then that opens the door for others like Roy Halladay or Mike Mussina to earn adequate votes to win. surprising now regardless of the incontrovertible fact that, my gut feeling is that Cliff Lee will win it. nationwide League: i think that the MVP must be Ryan Braun. Ryan Ludwick and Albert Pujols will chop up votes in St. Louis very like the two Redsox gamers will in Boston, and Chicago in simple terms doesnt have all of us it is stepping up. If the Mets make the playoffs David Wright ought to garner adequate votes for MVP using fact his numbers are comparable, yet for now i will bypass with Ryan Braun. As for the CY youthful award winner; Brandon Webb ought to win. TIm Lincecum is having an remarkable 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, yet for a dropping team. His numbers are not marvelous adequate to earn a CY youthful on a dropping team as Steve Carlton's have been in 1972, (27-10, a million.ninety two, 310 ok's) on a Philadelphia Phillies team that basically gained fifty 4 video games! So, for those motives, Brandon Webb (18-4, 2.80 5) will win the CY youthful. My prominent team is the ny Yankees and the Colorado Rockies. complicated to verify between the two communities.

N.L. - Chipper Jones, It pains me to say because I'm a MEt fan but he is hitting over .400 and is on pace for like 40 home runs and over 120 RBI's. You also have to take into account that he is the heart of his team has won gold gloves and he is currently the leading vote getter in the NL.

A.L is a little closer and even though his team is out of it the MVP is JOSH HAMILTON of the texas rangers. He leads the league in RBI's he has already equalled his total HR's from last year (18) he is batting over .325 with a great ops. Add in the fact everything hes had to over come in his personel life he is definitly the MVP

    Volquez and Hamilton.

Both are dominating their respective areas. Volquez is dominating on the mound, while Hamilton could be the first Triple Crown winner in 41 years.
