Ideal Dem & GOP party tickets for November election?

It appears unlikely that Obama will choose Hillary as his running mate. And McCain hasn't made his selection yet either. So for each party, who do you think would make the BEST running mate choice?

McCain/Romney?

McCain/Huckabee?

McCain/Rice?

McCain/Powell?

McCain/Paul?

McCain/Crist?

McCain/Jindal?

Obama/Pelosi?

Obama/Bayh?

Obama/Biden?

Obama/Bloomberg?

Obama/Richardson?

Obama/Hagel?

Or other combinations? What do YOU think the best ticket would look like?

I think you have to look at what both candidates themselves are lacking that may concern voters of their particular party.

For John McCain, I think the ideal running mate would be Mike Huckabee. He represents a faction of the party that still remembers McCain rejecting them in the 2000 race. He has a strong religious background and helps with the pivotal Southern voters.

I would prefer Ron Paul, but I don't think he brings that much to the ticket as running mate in terms of a dependable amount of votes he could deliver.

McCain is already strong with his own military ties, so I don't believe Colin Powell would fit in all too well.

For Obama, his inexperience on a national stage is a concern. Bill Richardson would be a pivotal running mate because of this. He has a great amount of foreign policy experience and has held many many positions in government. He can also help deliver Latino voters.

Gen. Wesley Clark would also be a decent choice for him because of his military ties.

McCain/Palin - She is an enormously popular GOP governor. highest approval rating in the US. I doubt she would steal any of the feminist votes but stranger things have happened.

McCain/Romney - Romney may have image problems but he is a clever strategist and a great businessman. This ticket may not win but it would probably be the best GOP ticket for improving the economy and putting America back on track.

Obama/Biden - Obama needs experience and diplomacy. Biden is solid.

Obama/Colin Powell - Powell has made references to supporting Obama. The GOP general as VP would provide Obama with a record win against McCain. It would be a tough sell to Powell. He still has a bitter taste in his mouth after 4 years in the Bush administration. The GOP side has talked about him running alongside McCain as well. I don't think Powell could stomach another failure.

The democrats will likely win no matter who they pick. I predict a one term presidency though. Obama doesn't understand Washington. He won't be able to institute Health care changes, the oil companies are private companies and therefore can't be forced to do anything, Iraq withdrawal will be more difficult than he imagines, economic troubles are still coming for several more years. He has a tough road ahead and his idealism will be shattered as will his image. People look to him for greatness. He is a charismatic Carter. I am afraid that people will be disappointed by his accomplishments. But hopefully I am wrong on this.

    Democratic Party:

McCain/Lieberman (you read that right, in a perfect world, McCain would be the Dem, and Obama would be laughed at as a nut.

    Republican:

    Romney/Jindal

    In "reality":

    McCain/J.C. Watts, Republican

    Obama/Lieberman, Democrat

Any of the three ought to crew with Wes Clark, as in line including his defense force credentials and overseas coverage understanding, no longer to point his ability to counter Mc Cain. My suited will be Edwards/Clark '08.

McCain/Romney and as far as I'm concerned Obama can pick Osama bin Laden to help run his radical socialist muslim terrorist campaign

I am a Obama supporter, but I swear to God that if he puts Pelosi on his ticket, I will burn his house down, kick his dog, and slash his tires.

Then I will hold my nose and vote McSame.

    Obama/Webb
