Supporting Bob Barr? If so, what are you going to do to spread the word and show libertarian support?

Are you going to go door-to-door, donate, set up meetups at meetup.com? What else? I am looking for ideas, but also want to help spread awareness that everyone needs to do something!

Update:

The point of our system is to vote FOR someone, not AGAINST another candidate. For those of you who are say that Barr will take away votes from McCain, good! Let it be a lesson to republicans.

Things will not change with the status quo.

CANDYROSE - The National convention was held already. Bob Barr is the LP nominee. Ron Paul isn't apart of the Libertarian Party, he's a republican and won't be on the ballot in November.

Yes, speaking to people at gun shows, shooting ranges and other conservative venues. Why vote for a liberal like McCain or Obama? Bob Barr 2008.

Sorry, we're still behind Ron Paul. If Bob Barr was smart and really cared about the best interest of America and the Libertarian Party, he'd of not accepted the Libertarian Party's nomination. I'm a Libertarian and am one of the ones who is upset over it. I think it would of been the right thing for him to do to turn it over to Dr. Paul. He is just further dividing Libertarians now. All the real Libertarians I know are still backing Ron Paul!!! So onward to the National Convention we go...

Although I consider myself to be, unofficially, a libertarian, I will most likely not be voting for Congressman Barr in November. Unfortunately it is ridiculously improbable that he would win and to vote for him would take away a vote from the candidate who I believe will do the least amount of damage.

I would love to see a third party candidate with a viable chance, and had he began campaigning earlier on and attempting to get on National debates like his colleague, Congressman Paul, then I would take the risk. But right now, I feel that my 1 vote will have a higher chance of getting the candidate I prefer who has a chance.

I am a libertarian when it comes to both economic and social issues, and I believe that both candidates are very liberal when it comes to upholding social standards, but only Sen. McCain has a conservative fiscal policy (except for cap and trade). Moreover, I have more passion for economic policy than I do for social standards.

McCain is not so bad but to be honest with you, I am only thinking of voting for him because it lessens Obama's chances of winning. And niether one of them are going to fix national defense issues so good luck with that.

No, no, no, no. answer to your four questions. five months or less from election day, Barr could not win anyway, He is only doing to to take votes from both parties, period. If he was sincere, he would have started a long time before this. He is like that old Ross Perot or Ross something a few years ago, just a election trouble maker and knows he will never win.

He arrived at the party too late. At this point, you either want Obama to win or you want McCain to win. No matter who you vote for it will be one of the above so you may as well vote for your preferred choice or the lesser of the evils.

You have to be able to do better than Mr. Barr.--and I mean this. The older he gets the more African American he looks. Hey, you can't hide the Blackness-and his anger at the suggestion demonstrates a number of troubling things lest of which are his opinions of African Americans.

Don't do it. All it will do is weaken the Republican vote and allow Obama to win. Vote for McCain unless you want Obama in your White House.

Don't get your hopes high...it's not going to happen this election.
